6 reviews of Waterstones in English
I love bookshops and this Waterstones does not disappoint , the staff are friendly and helpful. I love it when they have book signings here. Status Quo signed their book here. Situated on the main street across the road from M&S. I you will spend a long time in here browsing the shelves. The staff can’t do enough to help you and should they not have a book in stock they will order it in ver quickly and efficiently for you
I’m rating the upstairs coffee shop rather than the bookshop here but I just wanted to say that Coffee @ Waterstones is great. Freshly ground Fairtrade, organic coffee is always good and there’s a nice selection of snacks, sandwiches, baquettes etc. Try and get a window table to watch the world going by below you. It’s not the cheapest in town but quality is always worth paying for.
waterstones is a really nice shop in llandudno. they have all the popular books. all the ones that the bloggers are currently linking to. they have their finger on the pulse. there is a really nice coffee shop upstaris that makes it a bit different to all the other waterstones ive been in. the cutomer service is good, as you would expect. the price of books however is expensive. i dont buy from bookshops very much now unless im looking for gifts and time is of the essence, thats because buying online is cheaper and you have much more choice.
As a bookworm I appreciate the value of Waterstones coming to Llandudno (although it was a Ottakers before). However I don’t tend to buy many books here. The problem is that there is a little discount book store just down the road where they sell paperbacks at three for a fiver whilst Asda sell chart books much cheaper. Waterstones is just too expensive for me.
I must however say the coffee shop upstairs is great and well worth trying out.
First of all, this place is huge. Walking in there is akin to visiting a library, with it’s wooden stacks and wide selection. While they do seem to specialise in the more well known authors and series of books, they’re also pretty quick to promote up-and-coming authors.
Price-wise they’re fairly average, but they often run promotions (such as 3-for-2 offers and the like) which is good if you’re looking for several books at the same time.
All-in-all, a good bookshop. But make sure you know what you’re looking for, because it’s possible to lose hours in there just looking around.
Fairly decent bookshop covering mostly bestsellers with a (as far as I can tell) constantly running promotion of buy 2 get third free. I always try and pop in there when I’m in Llandudno because they have a fairtade coffee shop upstairs which is a bit expensive but since there’s usually two of us when I go we order a pot and two cups. The staff are competent, bright and helpful even when it’s busy (and it can get very busy)
