Just don't go there! We visited this dive for our Christmas Party last Friday (21st Dec) and had the most awful experience reflected in the other reviews. We where crammed in so you had to ask people to move their chairs, the staff , when you got the attention of one was only interested in taking your money for the overpriced drinks, eventually retuning after 15 minutes with the order. The food - please tell me when frozen sprouts became a delicacy. Tasteless frozen/processed food was the order of the day, the pudding not what was advertised - horrible. Now to the 'entertainment'. Is it that somebody is called a comedian because they tell jokes and make people laugh? This does not occur at this venue. The compere has not learnt from MikeLondon's comments as he was the most unfunny person I have seen in 50 years. At a good venue he would have lasted a couple of minutes before being booed off stage. Instead he just carried on with his pathetic rant against members of the audience. Our party had had enought when he returned after the first'act' and squeezed ourselves out of the place, only to be met with racisit taunts from the stage. A person I assume to be a manager chased after us offering us free drinks - 'nuff said And to the compere - no I did not die on my way home

Can only agree with previous reviewers re venue. Shame on you jongleurs as it is poor, poor, poor. If you are nostalgic about nights in the 80s at your dad's cricket club then this venue will suit. I know it should be about the comedy (and the comedians were not bad) but the venue is soooo bad it detracts from everything. Don't go.

Visited Jongleurs last night, Friday December 15th. It was the worst comedy night I have ever been to.

The venue itself is terrible - cramped and understaffed. 

The compere's act consisted solely of attacking the crowd with racist and misogynistic slurs. My personal lowlight was when he asked a man of Asian appearance if he ate dog. This had been preceded by a 1970's impersonation of a 'Chinaman'. He also seemed to like playing a game called 'spot the immigrant'.

The acts that followed were in the same league. The whole night was lazy, tired and cheap.

This was possibly the worst decision ever to come to this venue. The size of the stage is smaller than a single bed ( I kid you not) and our table backed right up to it. The comedians had finished by 10.30 so we awaited the advertised disco that goes on till 3 am...and we waited ...and waited. When we asked we were told there was music playing and we could dance if we want to but they close at 11.30!
why any of the comedians would work here is beyond me as the acts were all excellent.

I begrudgingly award a second star based on the quality of the comedians we saw last week. The location and atmosphere are both terrible, the bar staff and those serving have no idea what's going on and are generally pretty unpleasant, the food is awful and the bar prices are a little high based on the amount you've already paid for your ticket.

Several groups left halfway through the performance because the room was extremely hot, the air-conditioning ineffective and the smell overpowering.

Best avoided.
