However I was not impressed by the tatty presentation of the shop -it obviously is dated inside and needs a slap of paint on the walls and smartening up. After all one is paying a premium price for the chocolates so I would expect a bit of effort to be made with the interior to make a quality experience for the customers -I wont be returning to buy again.
My wife bought me a box of chocolates for Valentines Day from here rather than Thorntons and posted them out to me in Afghanistan. She wanted to pick her own but was advised by staff "Why don't you buy this display box?" - she followed their advice.....however the chocolates are stale and include snowmen(?!). A very expensive mistake.
Needless to say we shall NOT be visiting here again. Shame as we live in the Cathedral Quarter and wanted to support a local shop. :-(

What an excellent shop! In fact I would go as far as to say a perfect shop, selling the perfect range of treats in an idyllic location on Steep Hill. So if you’ve just made it up the hill then why not reward yourself or how about a treat to keep you going whilst you walk down the hill. There is a wide range of chocolates carefully displayed in order to tempt you.

Situated up steep hill Chocolaterie really reminds me of being in Paris in one of those Chocolateries! It sells beautiful chocolates a lot more unique than Thortons and make great gifts. They’re a little bit more expensive but in my opinion worth every penny.
The shop is worth a visit even just for a smell and a look.
