I went to the hard rock café with colleagues and straight away I have to say that the portions here are challenging.
i.e. we ate there last night (starters + mains) and I’m writing this at 12:17pm the following day and I’ve still not touched food.
The nachos can feed 4 and if you’re trying to decide between the ribs and the steak I’d say go with the ribs.
Also they do certain cocktails and shooters in branded glasses which you get to take home
An amaretto coffee at the end will help with digestion, so they say
Expect American waiters / bar tenders, priceless memorabilia on the walls and 80s rock anthems

I always go to Hard Rock Cafe no matter where I am in the world and I always enjoy the food and the London branch was no exception in fact it was the best burger that I have ever had in a Hard Rock. It was a weekend night that I visited and place was buzzing. Had to wait around 40 mintues for a table but not a problem as just had a few drinks at bar. As always with Hard Rock cocktails are good but expensive. Prices for food are also quite pricy exspecially the starter but the portion sizes are huge. Staff are great and really friendly and I will definatly go back next time I am in London.

Call it tacky, call it plasticcy. I DON’T CARE I LIKE IT HERE!
Although i never actually come here. I like it. I used to work in advertising so had some dealings with Hard Rock then. This meant yummy lunch and burgers and fun and silliness. And feeling a bit like a tourist. Brilliant.
If you have time, go and see their little museum, their wonderful tour guide is a lot of fun, and you get to see some brilliant music memorabilia. I was Bob Dylan’s hat. In my lunch break. While I was officially working.
It’s hard not to like the place after that.

I’m not sure why the Hard Rock Cafe is linked with the Apollo Theatre in Victoria because, unless you take the bus or tube, it is a decent 15+ minute walk from the theatre and therefore unless you get to Hard Rock quite early for a meal (say 5.30) chances are you will be rushing your meal and to your show that no doubt starts at 7.30. But anyway, I wanted to see Billy Elliot and this currently seems to be the best offer around. For £60 we got excellent seats in the Dress Circle and a 2 course meal plus softdrink (from a limited set menu) at Hard Rock.
We arrived at Hard Rock Cafe at around 5.45 and it was absolutely heaving. There was one guy handling the seating arrangements and my first, of two gripes, with the Hard Rock Cafe was that this guy was not great at handling pressure and totally unhelpful. The conditions of our deal was that we had to make a reservation, which we did. Obviously there were a lot of walk-ins to Hard Rock Cafe and not enough tables so fair enough the walk-in lot got sent to the bar to wait for a table (the wait at the time was given as between 45 mins to an hour!) When I informed this guy that we’d made a reservation his reply was to add us to the waiting list, to give us a buzzer and to assure us that we would get the first free table. My issue with this was that he didn’t even bother checking our reservation which, if he’d done his job properly, he should have seen that one of the few empty tables was allocated to us and seated us straight away. Normally I wouldn’t have minded but as we had to be out of there by 7.15 at the latest to make our show we were a bit concerned we would be late. Further, its not like this is a new offer so staff should have been aware of the time constraints for diners on this deal. When I asked for a menu so we could at least choose our meal and have it ready for when we were seated he couldn’t even do that and just ushered us to the bar. He quickly scooted away so I tracked down another more helpful member of staff. This is my second gripe - the person who had taken our reservation had failed to make note we were on the Billy Elliot offer so the staff didn’t know which menu to give us. Although the girl was very helpful and in fact arranged that we be seated straight away she had no clue which menu to give us and as a result there was confusion as to what we could order. Finally after about 15 mins we received the right menu and placed our orders.
From that point on the service was perfect though I did have difficulty understanding our Eastern European waitress. However, she was excellent, extremely efficient and super-friendly even allowing us to upgrade one of our desserts for nothing! She also gave us tickets to enter the museum (which unfortunately we didn’t really have time for.) Food was delivered quite promptly and it was very delicious.
I would like to give Hard Rock Cafe another go because the food (selection includes burgers, grills, barbecue, salads etc) we received was quite good and the meals that other diners around us received looked equally appetising. The restaurant itself also had a nice vibe (if a bit loud) and most staff, barring the first hopeless guy we encountered, were generally fantastic. But I really was a bit turned off by my two gripes.

First visit to Hard Rock Cafe and maybe my last…..!
After my visit I questioned my age! Am I too old to visit Hard Rock Cafe! I went with my partner - no children - just the two of us - we sat downstairs - I couldn’t handle the noise upstairs!
The food was okay - it’s burgers , chips and heart attack food - but all cooked well
It’s not my sort of restaurant but lots of others were having a great time!
One other comment, the waiting staff were all eastern european and american - not a brit in sight!

I really enjoyed my visit to Hard Rock Cafe in London and we have visited a few around the world. The staff were very helpful and even when we had a change of server they both came over to explain what was happening. It was very busy when we visited on a Friday evening without booking but they were really helpful and we had a drink at the bar of less than 10mins before we had a table.
It was rather expensive but we are talking a restaurant in London it was no more expensive than Cardiff where we have a lower standard of living. Good choice of food and was good quality.

I went here at the weekend and have to say I wasn’t impressed.
The food was overpriced and tastless and the view not great. Plus the music was so loud we were unable to talk to each other.
Having said that Hard Rock Cafe doesn’t claim to be a fantastic restaurant, it is what it is and the service is friendly and quick once you’re seated.

Very poor
Booked as part of a package with the Apollo Theatre in Victoria - eat before the show - will not do this again.
Table booked for 5.30pm (needing to leave by 7.00pm for the show) but not seated until 6.20pm even though they knew we had restricted time. Set menu on this package was basic and applied rigourously (eg. soft drink included but not water. If water wanted you have to pay extra). Food cold on arrival and had to be sent back. Had to leave before eating the included destert due to time pressures.
Staff very apologetic (plenty of experience perhaps) but overall experience very poor. Not recommended.

Most Hard Rock Cafes, I give 3 stars because the food is decent but overpriced, and there is always a wait. The restaurant is known for loud restaurants because of the loud music and the many tourists, which shows the chain must be doing something right. This particular location earns an extra star because it has a museum full of music history memorbilia. If you are lucky enough to get invited into the museum, you can touch pretty much anything as long as you ask nicely. I got to hold Jon Bon Jovi’s guitar, and my friends held Jimi Hendrix’s guitar and Miles Davis’s trumpet. One of John Lennon’s jackets is also on display. The food is typical Hard Rock Cafe menu items including burgers, salads, pasta, dessert and specialty mixed drinks. The service is just OK, nothing to write home about, and definitely expect to wait for a table even if you go in the middle of the day, especially during high tourism seasons.

Went there to a gig and was very disappointed, got there early and queued up, got right up front on the rail but as my friend is disabled and wanted to sit were forced to go back to the raised platform near the bar, where lots of leery youths proceeded to push their way in front of us so we had no view of the stage at all. Complaints to the staff were futile. Wouldn’t waste money on going there again.
