Love it. So many exciting toys to play with and demonstrations to watch. From your teddies to all singing-all dancing fighter pilot jets. There is something in every price range from £1 to £500 (well I guess £500 lol)! There are in-store demonstrations and there is also a little cafe to get a drink in after spending 3hours wandering around the store like a fat kid in a cake shop. They also do a loyalty card which is great for people who shop there fairly often.

Going in here is officially scarier than the thought of finding your parents at it. I have never in all my days seen so many people, and that’s not even including the small ones which you don’t see and end up stepping on.

Places like this are why the internet was born! That said I bet it’s great if you’re a kid.

One of the best shops in london!
Even for adults!
The shop is huge, with thousands of toys, boys, sweets.
Friendly staff who talk to you, whilst also demo’ing some of the stores toys!
Also contains a ‘build a bear’ shop, which is also amazing, and contains loads of cool outfits for you bears! such as cheerleaders, footballers!
Very fun!

If you want to bombarded by every single toy and everybody then this is the place to be. It is a one of it’s kind and it is a wonderful place to visit. You can be a kid and play with all the toys or drag your child round desperately trying for them not to pick up everything they see. The prices vary immensely but you don’t visit Hamleys to buy a cheap present. Christmas is a very special time there, if you have a child you can take - DO IT but BOOK EARLY i missed out last year and was gutted!

A lovely experience for children (and adults I guess) if you’ve never been there. It’s good beacuse there are lots of hands on things that you can try. The only down fall is that it’s quite pricey and it’s difficult to pay above the odds for things when you know you could get it cheaper at Argos or Woolworths

I remember going here was such a treat as a child, and it hasn’t lost its fantasy charm as I’ve grown older. The building itself just to look at from the outside is so typically and delightfully old English.
Each floor is totally unique with different selections of toys and gadgets and games. Unlike many toystores today there are always tester products out everywhere. Keep watching out or you will get hit!
The traditional guarding bears that have become so famous are still stood by the door. This unique quirk unites toy fans worldwide (on a recent flight in Asia I got shown a Hamley bear keyring by a boy of about six or seven. Hamleys was the ONLY English word he said to me!)

One of London’s most famous toy stores is well worth a visit.

The store is split over 4 floors, the bottom floor selling soft toys, the second, third and fourth selling games, dolls, pre school toys and boys toys.

I went last Sunday and it was absolute mayhem but well worth a visit. My daughter loved running round and playing with all the toys. Staff are friendly and used to children running round and actually encourage them to get things out and play.

Hamleys have they’re own range of toys and also stock brands such as Hello kitty, VTech, Peppa Pig and Postman Pat which can be sometimes hard to get hold of.

A fantastic place to buy a present for a child that they might keep forever and can say they got it from Hamleys. It is a fun morning or afternoon treat with the kids but beware at one point or more you WILL hear… “Mommy, Daddy..oh but pwwweaase” ...it is every childs dream come true in this store. The store for the adult kids could do with being a little bigger, not even at peak seasons it is literally crammed with people, tourist and ankle biters so it can be hard to navigate so keep hold of your children! Thank goodness for their escalators and a relatively quick escape if needed!

This is a very good shop, but it IS expensive, and it IS very crowded. It's a great place to go window shopping, and the soft toy / bear selection is great. One very reasonable thing is that you can make your own bear upstairs. You pick a bear, and a voice box / sound if you want one, and then take it to the lady to have it stuff and have it's heart put in. They even give you a birth certificate with your chosen name. Very cute.

Centrally located in Regents Street, this is still the toy store to beat all other toy stores. Inside is a fantasy land for kids, with everything imaginable for girls and bpys. Dolls galore, lego you’ve never dreamt of, electronic toys to take on the future – Hamley’s has 7 floors of everything.
Keep an eye on the media, as there are often demonstrations, events and product launches. This is something your child will remember forever (and you won’t forget soon either!)

I'm a newbie to Hamleys and went for the first time the other day and thought it was amazing! You feel like a kid again, which is the most fun in life. The downstairs section is the best, which is full of stuff you can press and mess with, you can even get your fortune told by the Zoltar arcade machine from the film Big! Everything is on a large scale, so it's a very impressive place to go.

Hamleys can be so much fun even if your not planning to buy anything. They most often have treasure hunts going on around store (especially around halloween easter etc) and from my experience these are free, followed by a free prize if you find all of the clues. You can therefore, bring the kids to Hamleys, leave with a toy/sweets and not have to pay anything!
If you look on the website:
http://www.myhamleys.com/experience/index.html
there will be details of upcoming events. My memory was from Halloween, where we completed the treasure hunt, and left with a box of fruit pastilles ach and a halloween goodie bag- and we had fun while we did it as well!

Toys toys toys! what more can I say. I defy anyone, no matter how old to walk past Hamleys on Regent street and not be temped to venture in.

This delicious toy store grabs you the second you enter the building, with toy piggy’s trotting around under your feet, airborne planes whizzing past your ears and over excited children/adults loosing control there is a wonderful coas all around you.

Whether your after a cuddly toy, play station 3 or 1000 piece puzzle Hamley’s is sure to have it. So unleash the kid in you and head to this wonderful store, you wont be disappointed.

I have been to this store several times in my life, but this time the first time being a father. I left the Hamley's with a mixed feeling. Obviously, it is great to have a dedicated toy store of that sheer size. The choice of products is really really good, I was overwhelmed by the Lego section downstairs. I also did not know that there is so much stuff available for girls... For your kids, you will find more distractions that you can think of. There is a coffee shop where you could also have a muffin, hot dog or burger at the top level.

However, I think they are overdoing it a bit. You can even have your picture taken as a souvenir and it is clearly just a shop. The sales guys are trying a little too hard to sell you the latest in gadgets as opposed to "good" toys to my taste.

Particularly annoying I find the abundance of cheap chinese soft toys making sounds that will welcome you at the ground floor. (and are really annoying at the store at Heathrow Airport). I found most items that are branded with their own "Hamley's" label to be of very poor quality. Stick to the real brands and you may even find the occasional deal.

Hamleys has saved me from present disasters on numerous occasions! Not only is it brimming with ideas for children aged 0 - 12 but it is a great place to take them as well, although I would not recommend it during the Christmas period as last year I queued for 45 minutes to get on the escalator to the first floor.

Employees are constantly on hand to assist you and demonstrate many of the toys so you can really see what you are buying. The store is very clearly marked out with cuddly toys on the ground floor (from £5 hamleys bears to a £3500 giraffe which is as tall as the ceiling), outdoor ideas, boys, girls and so on as you climb further up.

With a cafe upstairs, an ice-cream store on the ground floor and a sweet shop children are guaranteed to enjoy the experience. Other interesting features include a photo shop and a stand of limited edition items from various films.

Based in Regent Street it is very easy to access and free to enter, however do not expect to leave the store empty-handed!

This super store toy emporium has floors full of toys, games, dolls, teddy bear and all manor of items to help you revert to your 6 year old self. The staff are unfailing enthusiastic and there are usually a couple of staff providing demonstrations (the magic stand on the ground floor is always good entertainment). A great place to have a wander if you’ve got time to kill (and it’s all too easy to forget the time with all the demos available), and of course an ideal place to take children with pocket-money to spend as the items for sale range from a few quid to hundreds of pounds.

If there be a heaven on earth it is here. Apologies to the poet who said this about Kashmir but as far as kid (and kids at heart) are concerned there can be no better place than Hamley's. One of the world's biggest toystores it has 5 floors, all jampacked with every game, stuffed toy, gadget and gizmo imaginable. My sister and her children were in London on holiday for the first time and they spent two of their 15 days in Hamley's! For that matter when I took my 33 year old husband to Hamley's we came out clutching a box of magic tricks - and we don't even HAVE children! The variety here is just mind boggling and they are so well categorised you don't have any trouble finding things. The sales assistants are also very friendly and helpful and the ones doing the demonstrations really know how to grab your attention. What I really liked was that though they do demos and give you the sales spiel it genuinely looks as though they are just playing with the games and happen to be showing you as they do. There is no aggressive sales pushing here, which is really nice. You can play with most of the toys, which is really nice for the kids. though of course if you do take kids here be prepared to lose control of your schedule and your wallet!

I went here yesterday evening to buy a present for my little sister after not having set foot in this place since I was 6 or 7 years old and what wonderful joyous memories being there brought back! It’s great to stroll around even if you are too old for toys just because there are 5 floors on which you can find literally any possible toy you can imagine! You can play with some of them or watch some of the staff give demos. You can marvel at how many things haven’t changed since you were a toddler or at how much things have changed since: electronic and computer games and talking dolls weren’t to be found back in the day! Anyway- whether it be for your own entertainment, for some reminiscing or if you actually need to buy a gift, this is THE toy shop to head to!

It is packed full of the latest toys, games, and gifts or everyone and anyone. Not only children will enjoy this place but adults as well. The sales assistant are really helpful and will help recommend toys or if you know what you want they will direct you to the right place. I think of Hamleys as the Willy Wonka factory of toys.
At seven storeys high, Hamleys is one of the world's biggest toy stores. It's a London tourist attraction in itself, and the sheer size is mind boggling.
It has every possible toy you can think of - from cuddly toys of every size (look out for the life-size giraffe), model cars, board games of every description, action figures, dolls, costumes, lego and computer games.
Each floor has its own theme, so it's pretty easy to find what you want, and the sales assistants are usually quite helpful (when they're not playing with toys that is).
One of the highlights is the Build-a-Bear workshop on the 1st floor, where you can design your own cuddly toy, from the animal, to the clothing, even to the sound effects inside it - you can record your own voice if you want!

You don't have to be a child to come here. You don't even have to HAVE a child to come here. It's just a whole lot of fun!

Staff gaiety bordering on the manic Its lovely to see, but they would never get away with it on the street.
Grown-ups blowing bubbles into other people's faces and jumping up and down wearing funny clothes!
Definitely they'd be pulled in, become case studies in some serious psychiatric unit. But they are safe in the shop. Just keep them inside!
I full intend to buy the children in my life , toys from here.

Hamleys is THE place to take kids for a treat in London, being the only proper dedicated toystore in the Capital. The toys floor in Harrods is the only thing that comes close.

5 floors of everything imaginable for all ages, pepped up by interactive demos & demonstrations. I went to FAO Schwartz in New York recently, and that seemed limited in comparison. Yes, some impressive set displays ($10,000, 50 ft teddy anyone???) but its variety seemed to be in the grips of priviliged suppliers. At Hamleys you get much much more variety & choice albeit in slightly more traditional surroundings. Be warned though, get plenty of rest before v
