One of London’s most famous toy stores is well worth a visit.
The store is split over 4 floors, the bottom floor selling soft toys, the second, third and fourth selling games, dolls, pre school toys and boys toys.
I went last Sunday and it was absolute mayhem but well worth a visit. My daughter loved running round and playing with all the toys. Staff are friendly and used to children running round and actually encourage them to get things out and play.
Hamleys have they’re own range of toys and also stock brands such as Hello kitty, VTech, Peppa Pig and Postman Pat which can be sometimes hard to get hold of.
i loved the store when i visit with grown up son .just felt like a big kid stayed for hours.
made the mistake of taking my son here and lost him to it for 4 hours lol great place to take the kids and the old man lol
if you want a fab toy selection then this is the shop for you. It’s a wonderland for children big and small. Excellent
A fantastic place to buy a present for a child that they might keep forever and can say they got it from Hamleys. It is a fun morning or afternoon treat with the kids but beware at one point or more you WILL hear… “Mommy, Daddy..oh but pwwweaase” ...it is every childs dream come true in this store. The store for the adult kids could do with being a little bigger, not even at peak seasons it is literally crammed with people, tourist and ankle biters so it can be hard to navigate so keep hold of your children! Thank goodness for their escalators and a relatively quick escape if needed!
Magical experience for children and grown-ups alike. Great location too
generally considered to be the best toyshop in britain…and i couldn’t agree me. it definitely brings out the little kid in me! the displays are absolutely beautiful, especially at christmas. the staff are trained to be extremely helpful and patient, even when trying to deal with stressed out parents and tantrum throwing kids. perfect place to find the perfect present for any kid…or any adult for that matter!
Brilliant toy store of all!!! !even though i hate to admit that i can also become a child as i have 2 children but hamleys is one store i do admit to.So many things that facinate me instore that its amazing i guess even one whole day is not enough.. .i love christmas at hamleys as it seems to be a party for all there;i still remember that when i went this year i was more fasinated then my two kids.So someone has not visited the store recently or has not been there at all its a MUST go!!!
The child in me loves visiting Hamley largest toy shop in regent Street. Five floors of games, toys and books for the weenies, ths is a place to spend a couple of hours re-living your childhood.
This is a very good shop, but it IS expensive, and it IS very crowded. It's a great place to go window shopping, and the soft toy / bear selection is great. One very reasonable thing is that you can make your own bear upstairs. You pick a bear, and a voice box / sound if you want one, and then take it to the lady to have it stuff and have it's heart put in. They even give you a birth certificate with your chosen name. Very cute.
The best place for adult and kid toys alike. Such a fun store.
Centrally located in Regents Street, this is still the toy store to beat all other toy stores. Inside is a fantasy land for kids, with everything imaginable for girls and bpys. Dolls galore, lego you’ve never dreamt of, electronic toys to take on the future – Hamley’s has 7 floors of everything.
Keep an eye on the media, as there are often demonstrations, events and product launches. This is something your child will remember forever (and you won’t forget soon either!)
I'm a newbie to Hamleys and went for the first time the other day and thought it was amazing! You feel like a kid again, which is the most fun in life. The downstairs section is the best, which is full of stuff you can press and mess with, you can even get your fortune told by the Zoltar arcade machine from the film Big! Everything is on a large scale, so it's a very impressive place to go.
Hamleys can be so much fun even if your not planning to buy anything. They most often have treasure hunts going on around store (especially around halloween easter etc) and from my experience these are free, followed by a free prize if you find all of the clues. You can therefore, bring the kids to Hamleys, leave with a toy/sweets and not have to pay anything!
If you look on the website:
http://www.myhamleys.com/experience/index.html
there will be details of upcoming events. My memory was from Halloween, where we completed the treasure hunt, and left with a box of fruit pastilles ach and a halloween goodie bag- and we had fun while we did it as well!
Toys toys toys! what more can I say. I defy anyone, no matter how old to walk past Hamleys on Regent street and not be temped to venture in.
This delicious toy store grabs you the second you enter the building, with toy piggy’s trotting around under your feet, airborne planes whizzing past your ears and over excited children/adults loosing control there is a wonderful coas all around you.
Whether your after a cuddly toy, play station 3 or 1000 piece puzzle Hamley’s is sure to have it. So unleash the kid in you and head to this wonderful store, you wont be disappointed.
HAMLEYS HAMLEYS HAMELYS!!! The best place ever even for adults, I have always visited hamleys every xmas and it's a delight as you get a unique experiance. You can try toy's, play games, look around and buy gifts from any budget. Best place in the world.
I have been to this store several times in my life, but this time the first time being a father. I left the Hamley's with a mixed feeling. Obviously, it is great to have a dedicated toy store of that sheer size. The choice of products is really really good, I was overwhelmed by the Lego section downstairs. I also did not know that there is so much stuff available for girls... For your kids, you will find more distractions that you can think of. There is a coffee shop where you could also have a muffin, hot dog or burger at the top level.
However, I think they are overdoing it a bit. You can even have your picture taken as a souvenir and it is clearly just a shop. The sales guys are trying a little too hard to sell you the latest in gadgets as opposed to "good" toys to my taste.
Particularly annoying I find the abundance of cheap chinese soft toys making sounds that will welcome you at the ground floor. (and are really annoying at the store at Heathrow Airport). I found most items that are branded with their own "Hamley's" label to be of very poor quality. Stick to the real brands and you may even find the occasional deal.
