Review of Intense Colours Tattoo and Piercing from 6 July 2012
If you want big work these guys are the place to go for real! i went there a few weeks ago and got a little tat. i felt the price was a little high but i did it anyway as i felt comfortable there, they seem to make you feel at home in a professional kinda way. at the end of the tattoo they gave me free aftercare cream and a piece of paper with instructions (which ofcourse i followed word for word as the guy that tattooed me asked me too).
The tattoo literally didn't scab or fade and i was so happy i went back to begin a sleeve with them, the apprentice drew my own custom design and it was awesome, really awesome...and even better she drew it in like 2 days, so we began, i went for a day session and was shocked at the price, i paid £60 for the little one and then only £250 for a whole day, i asked the guy why he was so cheap and he said it doesn't cost so much more for the additional hours as the equipment is already set out and it just means more gets wasted in a small tattoo which i feel makes sense, as he said, after the initial hour youre paying him for electric and his time, he added that his prices are so low because the shop is new and he wants to appeal to peoples wallets to help spread the word and stay busy, but then he said tattooists charge too much and told me he's running very expensive machines and the most expensive ink available and is still turning a profit so he might keep this price unless it becomes problematic. i cant help but think how rinsed i've been in other shops before that had a lower quality of work and no aftercare provided. i used to go to that place up bitterne but they are so stuck up and charge too much! now my eyes have been opened to quality work at a lower price i'm sticking to this guy. when i finish the sleeve i want this guy to do my portrait of my grandma...its got to be right and he's proven he's got what it takes.
Oh and his apprentice made me a cuppa too...several of them...which always helps :D
