10 reviews of La Alhambra in English
Get there early as you’ll need the whole day to really appreciate this stunning and magical place….and to get a ticket.
We were in line at 7am and managed to just get hold of the last tickets for the day, but it was well worth it.
It’s everything, gardens, views, architecture – plus when we went they had an M.C Eecher exhibit!!
I was reall suprised at just how much I loved this place!
Beautiful gardens, easy to find and ample parking. The only problem we had was once we reached the gates and queued for 20 minutes we were told on the announcement that all the palace tickets were sold out for the afternoon visit so we had to buy the garden tickets instead for 7 euro each. We found that there should have been notices where we arrived into the car park saying that there is only limited spaces left. We enjoyed walking around the gardens and spent three hours there so was worth the 7 euros. Would deffinately book in advance if we were to go again to ensure tickets for the palace.
One of the most beautiful places on earth
- after the Taj Mahal - to explore.
Every time I go I feel soothed & at peace
with the world.
Walking in the shaded avenues beside
running channels of water, is delightful.
The Alhambra is built on a hill, so looking
out over the city is a joy too.
A must see landmark in Granada. The moorish style buidings, sheltered courtyards cooled by running water and garden areas take you back in time to the period when Granada was ruled by the Moors. The views over the surrounding tranquil country side are well worth a few photographs.
The Alhambra is one of the most beautiful monument I've ever seen. In fact it was elected as a candidate to become one of the new seven wonder of the world.
I really suggest you to visit it!
one of the most beautiful palace. from the ottaman empire. we was maze to see so much gold on the wall and also the hareem with the wonderful gardens and the fountains the view from the palace was lovely and you could see the citiy of granada below
Absolutely amazing - and the reason I visited Granada in the first place. I was not disappointed the grounds were beautiful and the place itself was staggering. You can walk here from the city so it’s accessible. You must go.
A place not to miss when in Granada, the main landmark, spectacular Alhambra palace. Make sure you reserve enough time to explore, there is load to see. History, architecture, gardens…all beautiful and breath-taking. You can walk from the town centre to Alhambra gardens (or you can take a local bus to take you there.
I used to run daily through the gardens here and generally around the building before I actually went on the tour.
Those gardens and the other free parts are equally as spectacular as what you find inside.
Not that it’s not worth going in - because it really is. It’s hard to believe that only a hundred years ago this place was abandened. The spectacular restoration of the mosaic cealings in all their intricate detail and just the scale of the palace are breathtaking.
The is one of the great examples of what the Muslim culture gave to Western europe; so beautiful, so refined and so cultured - at a time when my lot at least were running round in rags.
The Alhambra is one of the great intact historical sites left in the world. I have been to there many times and fully intend to visit many more before I die. Some of my fondest travel memories are in the Alhambra.
