strengthofabear: “Came here on New Years Day for Lunch with Ruiz and others, ended up staying till 11pm. Good jukebox. Helpful staff. Nice beer garden. Good location. Food was very average, standard pub stuff at best and not a lot of choice.” more...7 reviews of The Hole In The Wall in English
Just come back from a Sunday roast and had a lovely time. The space feels cosy and although it was really busy, I didn’t feel I had to shout at my companion.
Staff were very attentive and friendly.
The roast came in a generous portion. Sadly, it was a bit too bland for my taste buds and the beef had a noticeable portion of fatty parts, the vegetables made up for it though. A definite winner was the Panettone Bread & Butter pudding for dessert. I feel I’ve been well fed & looked after, for an acceptable £22.
I will definitely make this a regular venue from now on. A clear winner in my books.
i love this place...food is very good and kids menu great too...lovely atmosphere and owners around and working hard!..would recommend to friends.....
I've always like this pub. It is great in summer as it has a nice garden and is also cosy in the winter. The food is lovely but very overpriced and the staff are often miserable. I've been in here a fair few times and despite it being a local pub where you would think they want to encourage locals to come back to, they make no effort unless of course you are antipodean! Next time I come in a smile wouldn't go amiss and also a full pint rather than 3/4 of a pint as I am paying almost £4 a pint.
Dropped in for a bite to eat and a pint last night with my mate Tim, been meaning to go there for some time as everyone says how nice it is. Wasn't disappointed, really welcoming atmosphere on a cold and damp January evening. Only two bitters, but good ones - Pride and Spitfire. Food wasn't cheap, £10.50 for the Tabbouleh, and £13.50 for the Rib-Eye, but both were excellent. Fairly busy but staff were really friendly, attentive and chatty. Will definitely be going again, take the kids at the weekend.

Completely overpriced for the quality of food on offer. Pleasant setting and nice garden. Wish the grumpy staff would cheer up. Otherwise not bad
The Hole In The Wall is hidden away in a residential street in Chiswick, away from the main throng of activity in the High Road. This means that frequently it is very quiet there. I know most people long for a quiet pub, but unfortunately it comes across as having no atmosphere and unpopular.
They have a good wine list, and in the winter, a nice open fire.
The food here is really nice but totally overpriced. I can’t remember the exact pricing but I remember ordering the roast pork belly and wondering how on earth it constituted being priced at the price it was. I don’t mind paying a bit more for well cooked, generous meals but this was ridiculous. The vegetables were virtually raw and the pork very dry as it was over cooked.
I can’t say that I’ve rushed back to eat there, but it’s great for a quiet drink with friends.
Pleasant gastro pub with a nice beer garden, this place does good gastro pub food and is reasonably (just) priced.
Not too crowded in the evening, so although a little way from anywhere, is certainly worth a visit, particular for a mid-week pint and nibbles
