Bazeel

When me and friend visited Pisa in February we came to Bazeel every night. This came down to two things: great location with seats outside in the piazza garibaldi, and also the prosecco which was 15 euros a bottle. We started every evening with a bottle!

Bazeel is a great bar/restaurant right on the banks of the river Arno, on the Piazza Garibaldi.

Their aperitivo, served from around 7pm, is a must. A huge buffet of various crostini, pasta, salads and risotto (among other things - it changes daily) is on offer.
Make sure you arrive before 7pm to secure a table, as it gets very busy.
It gets even busier on weekends, when hundreds of people mingle around the banks of the river. It’s quite a sight.

Prices are very reasonable, and in the case of pizzas, outrageously cheap.
A standard Margarita pizza is €5 and mind-blowingly enormous (and delicious!).
The famous and fantastically strong Italian aperitivo drink, Negroni, is €5.

They also have live music and DJs on weekends.

If you sit outside, it’s a hugely atmospheric place. On one side, you have the start of the historic center and the ancient shopping street, Borgo Stretto. On the other, you have the banks of the Arno and the view across the Ponte Mezzo (main bridge).
It’s a simply lovely location.
