Foresters Arms

I live locally and have used the pub since college days in the seventies! It's been in various states of disrepair over the years but is now in the best condition in my memory. Contrary to another review I've never seen the landlord worse for wear or abusive. The beers are good, it's not the cheapest but it's not the dearest either. I recommend it if you want a quiet drink in lovely surroundings.

i have been drinking in pubs in this area for many a year now, and hand on heart this is the best boozer in the area. the locals are great and the landlord always makes you feel welcome.

i would like to meet a person who doesnt enjoy drinking here in the summer with sun setting across london!

The pub should have been left as it was.Ok it needed money spent on the exterior/interior,but the brewery have made a bloody mess.Its trying to be acity wine bar stuck in the forest.The food is bland and over priced.The larger range is good as is the bitters.The landlord is always out of box after 6pm and is normally abusive to certain customers.This in turn puts newcomers off.....wanna good pub, then go to The Gardeners Arms down the hill.

Really good Summer pub on the edge of Epping Forest. The pub has benefitted from recently(ish) adding the patio area for outdoors drinking overlooking the forest, in addition to the enclosed grassy beer garden. Lager selection is fine, including premium/extra cold Kronenbourg/Carlsberg. I have sometimes felt the inside of the pub to be a little off-putting, one of those places where you could feel you were intruding on the regulars’ clique, but I have always found the staff to be friendly. Not tried the food, but the menu looks good.
