Not overly impressed with the value of this place. You can buy feed for the animals but there is only 2 goats and 4/5 llamas to feed.
The animals didn’t have much space for living, guessing they had the minimum allowed. Chickens in a little cage on a farm?? 2 pigs in a tiny enclosure. Just didn’t feel right about the space many of the animals had (or didn’t have, as more the case)
Been to several other much better condition and value for money farms/animal centres.
Cafe is bleugh apart from the ice cream which was nice.

Gardens brilliantly kept and lots for kids to do. My main worry was the terrible smell in the animal houses and the conditions in which they were kept. Upsetting

Hidden away in a rural corner of Heckmondwike, Ponderosa is an open farm with facilities for disabled visitors and also provides work placements too.
As well as the wonderful animals (ranging from rabbits to ostriches to crocodiles), there is a small playground and a cafe serving snacks and refreshments.
You can buy bags of food which you give the animals which increases the level of interaction on your visit which is a nice touch.
It’s a wonderful day out for you and your kids!

A great family day out. Lots of animals to look at and stroke, as well as some behind glass you’d rather stayed there!
Very small playground, but the children can ride a pony too. Not really a day out, and the cafe doesn’t take cards, so it might be worth planning another cafe or pub lunch nearby.

I love Ponderosa and I don’t have kids! It’s very cheap, ample parking and a fun day out. You can buy feed for the Llamas which I loved and see a wide variety of animals which is great for both children and adults alike

A great family day out. My children loved this place, they saw pigs sheep, goats, deer rabbits and a reptile house among others it was a very hands on experience and most animals were allowed to be touched. plenty for children to do with several play areas situated around the place, and horse and pony rides on a weekend, other things include picnic areas and cafe. great place to go on a warm day. we wnet when it was chilly but still had a fantastic time.
