Drinking I'd see as a problem but smoking dope... what's the problem? Sure, it is illegal but it chills people out whereas drinking is far more changeable. I'd rather see someone smoking dope than smoking tobacco :)

without doubt one of the finest city centre parks in the country if not the finest, visited a number of times and the squirrels are truly amazing they take food from your hand and love strawberry jam sandwiches my son had one follow him round for ages after his sandwich and he thought it was great. the anual show is brilliant went last week and took friends who loved it the park seems to get better every time we visit.dont just take my word for it get up and see for yourself.
very huge park. It’s very nice to have a walk and to do some sports there cause it is beautiful and we can feel as we were in the countryside Lots of squirel, duck and so on.
I really enjoyed to go there when I was in wolverhamtpon to play football. I always found people to play with me.

When is the council going to sort out some security here, this place is wonderful but sometimes you will come across groups of people either smoking dope or drinking in a public place. Never had any trouble and I hope it stays that way.

When I lived close i used to visit most days to walk dog. Its a great place and the gardens and plants are well kept. Be careful by the clock as drug and alcohol user can congregate there but apart from being a bit loud and abusive they do not cause too much trouble. The cafe is great and reasonably priced and the regular events are free and well worth attending (steam fair, fiesta etc).

A lovely park right by wolverhampton town centre. Has a fab bandstand and there is nothing nicer than sitting in the park on a sunday afternoon eating an ice cream and listening to the band! Also has a vintage steam fair once a year and the wolverhampton show which are great fun for all the family! Lovely park, great play area, lake, greenhouse garden and cafe.

This is a great asset to Wolverhampton. It has undergone quite a makeover during the last few years, and is a pleasant place to have a walk in. The gardens are quite spectacular, and kept in order by a small team of gardeners. There is a very pleasant little cafe with friendly staff, and quite a variety of food. It is one of the few places nearby where I can walk on a good flat surface. In summer bands play in the bandstand each Sunday - quite a change these days. The history of it is pretty interesting as well. The only offputting thing is that it is a little unnerving at times when you are on your own as there can be groups standing around. Still, well worth a visit.

West Park is my 'local’ so to speak. As someone living in a house without a garden, it is my go-to place when I need some greenery or someone to laze about on the grass when it’s sunny.
There is a café which has been refurbished within the last few years as has a decent amount of seating, as well as a good range of hot and cold meals, snacks, cakes and drinks. They also sell bags of nuts for feeding the squirrels!
There are a few little hidden things to find in the park. Two of my favourites are the hedgehog house and the jangly umm…’thing’ near the greenhouse.
The park has no hills and has pavements within - giving easy access for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The only downside is that the public toilets are pretty grotty - but on the upside, there are some clean and well maintained ones within the café
During the summer there are a number of events held at the park, including the annual City Show. During the winter there is a bonfire night display. There is a bandstand near the café and there often seems to be brass bands playing on weekends.

West Park is a lovely Victorian city park, which has been carefully restored in recent years. It has extensive lakes, one of which you can boat on. The plantings are excellent and its good for a walk, feeding the birds or the squirrels. There’s a boating lake and a greenhouse with tropical plants - great for a warm up on the cool day. The newly extended tea rooms have a good range of food available. The children’s playground can get very busy and has been neglected somewhat in recent years, but on quieter days is good. Many city events are held here including the Steam Fair (great fun for anyone gadget minded), the City Show and the annual fireworks show.

West park is a great place to take the children, it has a lovely small café where you can buy ice cream and various other small snacks, and full meals! A chip butty costs just £1.30 and it’s nice to eat while watching the children on the park playground, which consists of one big one and a smaller section for the smaller children. My children love a walk around West Park and we often take a little bread to feed the ducks. The squirrels are quite cheeky coming up to you very closely and just staring at you before scatting up a tree. As said above it has a boat lake, bandstand where they often do events. On one part up by the conservatory there is a small section where children can jump up and down and it plays a tune – you have to move to the back of the conservatory to find this but my children love it.

Lovely park in the middle of Wolverhampton. Has: 1 Boating lake, 1 Bowling green, 1 Putting green, 6 Tennis court, Tea room, Conservatory & Bandstand.
The boating lake is great - just the right size to hire one of the boats & row around with ducks following you! The conservatory is interesting with all the exotic plants inside.
Had a large musical keyboard set into the ground on one side of the park when I last visited - great for kids (& adults alike!).
