A really busy, full pub at the bottom of the pedestrianised high street in Guildford.
I found myself seriously irked. Not by my below average pint of seafarers, oh no...by the image below (which was up on the wall of the pub) and what it implies.

Pub spread over 2 floors right at the bottom of the High St by the river.
I did note some interesting photos of less than great world leaders posing with the US president of the time. Beer OK, atmosphere fine with a good mix of ages. Every time we’ve looked at the menu, we’ve gone elsewhere though!

A good Summer pub but the food has really gone downhill over the years. When it first opened as a pub they did a whole selection of burgers named after various US presidents. Last Summer I went in and ordered the vegetarian burger which I and my friend thought would be a mushroom burger but no it was a portobello mushroom plus a slice of pepper in a bun served with chips and they served us about £7 for it. Another friend had ordered something else and when it turned up it was horrid, they did give her her money back though. 5* for atmosphere but only 2* for food nowadays.

Brilliant location for a quick drink or snack after some shopping. It is very open and light inside, although the food is a little pricey for what it is.

This place looks great from the outside. It certainly is The White House of Guildford. Inside is also very well laid out and decorated. Beer ranged is generally good, another one of those Fullers pubs by the way. Service at times has been smug and disappointing, overall though its not a bad venue. Good upstairs and outside sections for sitting too.
