Another nice eatery in town that has a great location down by the river with outside seats to sit and watch the boats go by. when ever we have called we have always got a table straight away, which reflects its position not the food. reasonably priced and friendly staff
The Blue Moon Cafe is a funny little place, it has a 1950s theme to it but its down on the waterfront far away from the city centre so I can’t think that it gets the custom that it should. The place is set out like a diner with lots of memorabilia on the walls and 50s music. They haven’t gone all out on the theme though which is a shame as I think they could have done a lot more with the place.
The menu is quite eclectic although there did seem to be a fair few vegetarian options. I opted for a pasta dish which was a little too salty but then that’s a matter of personal taste.
It certainly made a change from the big chains that you find elsewhere in Chester, and I would probably take visitors there if we were going to walk down to the river.
They also have a range of newspapers to read whilst you wait for your meal, plus they offer ice-cream floats which are few and far between these days
My mum and I found this cafe a while ago now and everytime we are in chester shopping we take a detour down to the river for a bite to eat here!
We love having a game of 'Guess who’ and listening to the juke box. It is a unique place!!
Unfortunately the juke box was not working the last time I went but they did have the old tunes playing. I hope thay manage to get it fixed.
I recommend the Tuna Melt Toatie!!! Yum Yum..
