Very clean, good selection of food at reasonable prices, would have liked a smaller Scottish breakfast on the menu, good portion sizes, and great customer service.

Great family friendly place to stop for a drink and bite to eat when you are out and about in town. The staff are friendly and the pancakes are delicious. There is a large varied menu ranging from sandwiches to burgers - just watch out if you are vegetarian - you need to make it extra clear you want a veggie burger if you don’t want to bite into beef!
Prices are on the high side but the atmosphere is nice and if you just stick to coffee it’s not too bad on the purse.

I have been to the Pancake Place a couple of times. It is great for a quick coffee and a bite to eat and is handily situated in the centre of town. However, I do think it is a little expensive for what is really is just a cafe. There are better options in town but I wouldn’t avoid it.

This is the best place to go in Dumfries after you have done some shopping. You can have a whole range of stuff. The best ones to go for are the pancakes with tons of ice cream and cream. Don’t expect small portions. These are massive sized pancakes that will fill you up and keep you warm against the wet Dumfries weather. Somehow it’s a lot more fun to go to the pancake cafe than your run of the mill one.

We went round Dumfries twice the other day before settling on this place! I agree it’s a bit expensive but there’s a lot of choice and what we had was really fresh and delicious (cheese omelette with beans and salad, mushroom soup, egg and cress sandwich, amazing large syrup pancake with bananas and three coffees = £19.35) Lots of choice for vegetarians. The waitress service was quite fast and the two girls serving were friendly. It’s nicely spaced out with solid wooden chairs and tables. We’d definitely go back there again.

I agree with gaynor19…this place has barely changed in 20 years.
My friends and I used to go in here and get a hot ribena years ago as it was the cheapest thing on the menu.
Those were the days.
The food’s not bad, very expensive though, I wouldn’t deviate too much from the pancake offerings though as you’ll pay through the nose for it, and its not that brilliant.
Nice place to meet friends and have a cuppa and a chat though.

lovely pancakes, although a little bit expensive. It could do to be decorated as it just looks the same now as it did 20 years ago when i went there .
