D & A

I am subscribed to the D&A contact lenses by post package but this is my local D&A branch where I attend for lenses check ups and eye tests.

The lady on reception is always very friendly and helpful and always finds me an appointment that suits me. When I have attended for appointments, there is always somewhere to sit and wait and the optician always sees me very quickly. The eye examinations seem thorough and they are always helpful in suggesting alternative contact lenses.

What did annoy me a little was that I asked them to change all my details to my married name and they claimed they’d done this yet I still get all communication in my maiden name!

I had a voucher sent via email for a free eye test through nectar so booked an appointment with them this week. Making the appointment was no problem I mentioned I had a free voucher and it was fine, they called yesterday to remind me of appointment.

When I got there I was greeted by two members of staff, one of which took all my details and as I had forgotten my glasses they called the last opticians I had used to get my last prescription details.

I was seen by the optician within about 10 minutes of my appointment time and she spent about 25 minutes doing the eye test and finding the correct glasses for me. She explained what an astigmatism is as I have one in one of my eyes and explained that when I start to wear my new glasses it will take at least a week to get used to them.

I then spent a further half an hour deciding what glasses to get and the assistant was a great help and really helped me choose a pair that looked great on. I paid half the price as a deposit for the glasses, the rest I have to pay on collection and I will get a call to let me know when they are ready.

I was not forced into buying a pair of glasses and a prescription was written out for me to take away if I wanted.
