I've stayed at this hotel now more than half a dozen times and every time the service has been impeccable and the rooms very clean. It's pretty minimalistic and stylish design. The lobby and every room were renovated in 2009. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's my first choice everytime I book a hotel in Hamburg. They have two restaurants (one italian one and one french-polynesian), plus two bars. The location is fantastic. It's right next to the Japanese garden and Planten im Blumen. It's a short walking distance to both Jungfernstieg, ABC Viertel and the Alster lakes, and as well as to to the alternative shopping area of Marktstrasse and Sternschanze and St Pauli.

Thanks to one the forwriters! The massages are really professional. The sauna area good size and welcoming. Rooms excellent. Somewhat annoying was that only one elevator to the 27th Stock takes, but that is pedantically, especially if you also enjoy the view.
I have already arrived at noon, the room was not ready. And so I got an invitation to the bar My objection, I still could pay for myself, because I would be much too early because it was dismissed with a smile.
I call that discretion also to the front desk staff. (In contrast to the Lufthansa ..)
Prima hotel.

Every hotel will be pleasant if in the right company. Even better if you have a great view and a clean room. It was a bit of a shame that the personnel was a bit strange. But everyone has a bad day. Yes, the (interior) design is indeed old school and does barely justify the prices. If you don't find a place at breakfast or don't fancy sitting amongst other slightly elderly people, I can only recommend to rush to the station Dammtor, get a few croissants and a coffee and back to the room. Veeeeeeery cosy!

The elegance of the huge gray monster is already dusty. It might be practical and sort of rent able? But the critics who criticized the project 30 years ago were right. The nice city park, "Planten and Blomen" is disfigured. A face lift would be necessary to make something nice out of this building. The Radisson SAS hotel (previously Palshotel) was demolished in 2001/2002 (only 20 years old) and replaced by a flashy new building with a huge aquarium. It would not surprise me if this tower in Hamburg will be history soon.

We were at the SAS with our club. The building is of the 70s but by no means ugly. The rooms are clean and the personnel friendly. The view of the upper levels is marvellous. The hotel's own SkyBar is very expensive and not necessarily good. I cannot comment on the hotel's prices since we booked about 15 rooms and paid a total price with other services to our club. I no longer consider the SAS suitable as a business hotel.

It's been a long, long time ago! When I was 21 I spend a New Year's evening here with my ex-boyfriend. He wanted to impress me and decorated the entire room with roses! I really didn't like the New Year's menu for 99 € - rabbit! :( He noticed it, grabbed me and we went to my favourite Italian restaurant! At midnight we enjoyed the fireworks at the Radisson, incredibly beautiful with all the lights twinkling over the Alster! At night, the 24th floor was a bit spooky though as the wind was blowing through the corridors... breakfast buffet was yummy! I shall certainly never forget the evening in the Radisson.

Despite the older exterior I liked the interior. The personnel was always top. The view of the Alster is gorgeous. I was absolutely thrilled about the sunrise there. Nearby there are often fireworks, which make for a nice change and great to watch from the 22nd floor. The way to and from work was not via the nearby Dammtor with ICE connection but via "Planten un Blomen". Just that alone was relaxation to calm down from the stresses of work. I also liked the breakfast and, although forbidden, I even got two soft-boiled eggs. That's quite rare. I always got a table in one of the two breakfast rooms. If I'm in HH again I shall try to stay there again.
