went to tong garden centre last week to buy some spring plants and all they had where primrose plant nearly all the large greenhouses where empty, last year i ordered a blue moon rose and was told it would take three weeks to come and somebody would phone me, over 12 months later still waiting for that phone call. poor customer service mostly overpriced goods and empty greenhouse. not very good for a garden centre

Lovely day at tong yesterday. People bang on about this garden centre been exspensive. But i think there judging it on its past. Products that have been sitting round for years are exspensive. But new products prices match every where. I baught my wife some cane furniture which was £50 cheaper than cane shop in leeds. Baught a water feature called arthurs seat for £275 which i found the cheapest online for £420. I think people say its exspensive because they get told it is. In the cafe i baught a coffee for £1.70 in starbruks it was £2.45. I come here monthly and alaways will. The grotto looks amazing and the displays and a nice display of christmas trees.

This must be one of the worst garden centres in Britain ive been to, there was this dirty old man walking about shouting at everybody and he called himself the boss, he should set an example and do some work himself and not abusing staff, I have only ever been once and what a shambles most of the plants are overprices and are of poor quality. One member of staff was crying because the so called boss was shouting at her, when I went to the tills they looked like there were put in when the place opened 30 years ago, well then I paid by card never seen a pre historic machine like that before it might has well had a wind up handle it took so long. Its worth going just for the laugh, well whiteleys at mirfield here I come

we go to tong garden centre quite a lot although i always find myself asking my wife "WHY?"

The products are priced as if you could not possibly get them anywhere else, hence the huge price tags. The same applies at Christmas when just about everything they sell is over-priced.

We bought a christmas tree and lights in December 2010. The top of the tree fell off when we took it out of the box and the lights must have been in stock for around 10 years as one light after another went out once switched on. We obviously took them straight back within 2 hours of purchase and the last thing they wanted to do was to give a refund. Obvioulsy, we took the same 2 products again as a replacement "NOT!!!"

All i can say is that the place is okay to look around but look elsewhere for a bargain as you'll not find one there!

I recently visited tong Garden Centre Bradford to buy some fish. I had visited a few weeks earlier and the aquatics dept was clean and tidy with helpful staff. What i a difference when i went yesterday. The place was a mess, no staff around to help and the shelves were empty. I overhead some staff talking about a ban on extra hours and along with the empty shelves, i can only imagine that Tong Garden Centre wont be around much longer. Did you know that a new Pet centre has opened a few hundred yards away. Tong Garden Centre has obviously lost its way.

In my opinion this place has grown way out of control (grown, see what I did there). It is now a massive sprawling site and has lost in my opinion the friendly service you used to get before it became so vast. Difficult to find anyone who is not already serving someone else or running around if you need advice on plants etc and for the size of garden centre the prices seem expensive. This centre seems to me to thrive on the weekend browser rather than anyone who actually goes to buy anything and so is always packed post Sunday lunch ! Avoid and find a smaller local garden centre, you’ll get better prices and possibly better quality.

Very large garden centre on the edge of Bradford before you get to Tong Village. It has a large spacious car park. They sell a good range of plants, garden supplies, garden furniture and household goods and gifts. I have always found them to be a bit overpriced and the staff somewhat disinterested.

Even just thinking about this place brings me back to my childhood. We would come here at least once a year to get a tree for Christmas. They always had fantastic displays around Christmas time. In general, they have a huge selection of plants and as i’m no expert I tend to ask staff for help and they will always give some good practical advice. They have a good few animals there too as well as a cafe serving the basicI. There’s plenty of parking space which is a good job as I would have to say it’s not the easiest place in the world to get to.

I love going here to choose my new plants and bushes for my garden I have a very big garden and love designing it bit by bit and this garden centre has everything i could possibly need all under one roof. The prices are average so thats ok. There is a small delivery fee but obviously you cannot carry everything home on the bus or fit everything in your car so this is ok. The place sells more than plants, outdoor furniture and buildings they also sell pet supplies which is a bonus. The kids love to look at the pets in their cages and are forever nagging to bring them home. They also do some homewares and some gift things. They come into their own at christmas when they have their christmas displays on - it is magical. They have a lovely cafe which is nice and clean and the food very tasty.

I love visiting this garden center with my little girl it provides a good day out. I love taken her to see the xmas displays when it gets to that time of year.

I do not think much to the food in the cafe at all. It is not worth its money.

Tong Lane, Bradford BD4 0RY

0113 2853506

opens; mon - sat 9am- 6pm

This is a very large garden centre which is on a main road so is easy to find and access - if you dont have a car there is a bus runs from bradford interchange that drops off right outside.

You can buy absolutely everything here from garden plants, bushes, sheds, benches to pond supplies. You can buy paving, bbqs and other outdoor living/designing supplies. They also have a good aquatics centre and pet supplies, plus a good selection of pets to own. The best part of pet centre is 'elvis’ the parrot - he is lovely.

The cafe is huge with a very good choice but it is a bit on the dear price, still you have to treat yourself sometimes and the food is lovely and well worth it.

The centre is always well stocked and the staff are very nice and polite.

A large garden centre with aquatics, rabbits, birds etc. They also do homewares and there is a cafe (althought think it is expensive). Nice for a browse round but some stuff is overpriced.
