Review of Marks & Spencer from 3 September 2009

I think that Marks & Spencer at Cribbs Causeway near Bristol is truly excellent for clothes and non-food goods. However I have reduced my spend on food from a substantial amount to almost nothing!

There are 3 main reasons:-

1. the food sales area was reduced in size to accommodate eating areas and I find the range of food products is now much poorer eg vegetables cheese salads drinks and so on.

2. they seem to be turning the food operation into a health food store-commendable of course but not what I look for at M&S. The signs on the exterior walls are concerned with salt reduction, animal welfare, sustainability, fair trade etc. but not with quality and flavour which are what I used to expect.

3. I don’t mind paying higher prices in return for good quality but I object to paying 5p for carrier bags, supposedly to help the environment but in reality to profitably cover the cost of providing them.

I would be interested to know if others share these views

This marks and spencer store is located in the Mall at Cribbs Causeway. It is one of the biggest shops at cribbs causeway. Marks and Spencer sell good quality clothing, and their prices are resonable. They also sell really nice food, and home goods.

This is a big Marks and Spencer store in the Mall at Cribbs Causeway. As with all the other shops at Cribbs Causeway, it has the benefit of being able to park for free and the Mall is all undercover.

It sells all the usual things that you would expect to find in Marks and Spencer, i.e., clothes, shoes, food, gifts etc.

I love Marks and Spencer clothes. They are well designed, well made and last for years.

The staff there are courteous, as are most staff in Marks and Spencer throughout the country.

This is the best Marks in Bristol - much more spacious than the one in town, and there’s free parking at the mall too which is always a bonus. They have the full range of underwear too which is where I always buy mine - it’s great quality and lasts for ages. The staff are always really nice and really helpful too.

This is one of M & S better stores. Large, bright and plenty of room between the stock and displays. Friendly, helpful staff. There is a foreigh currency desk shich always seems to offer the best rates. The store is on 2 floors with an escalator or lift to help you change floors. The food hall is large and well stocked. There is a choice of 4 places to eat. 2 coffe shops, 1 takeaway and the best bit the Delit Bar which is situated in the food hall. The menu is limited and slightly on the pricey side. It is however freshly prepared, some of the preparation happens in front of your eyes. Unfortunately there are often items not available on the menu because they have run out. This always seems a bit silly when you are sitting in the middle of a well stocked food hall. You sit on high stools at a high counter. This can be slightly difficult to negotiate for the older generation, me included, the chairs are very heavy and difficult to move. At busy times you will have to queue. EVen with missing menu items and awkward seats and queues I keep going back for more.

I really like Marks at the Mall, its a very good all round store whcih is big enough to have a bit of everything. Obviously everything is kept well maintained and the toilets are great as always with M&S.
The best thing about this Marks is the Deli restaurant within the food hall. If you can’t decide where to go for lunch if you are in the Mall and you want to treat yourself, go there. It has quite a small menu but it is all freshly prepared, and a lt of the preperation goes on right in front of you.
The best thing though is sitting up on the high chairs pretending you are actually somewhere like Harrods and watching other jealous shoppers who are frantically rushing around to get their shopping.
The downfalls is that they often seem to run out of foof (very strange as it is situated within the food hall!) and it can be a little chilly sometimes with the air conditioning and you are sitting near the refridgerated cabinets.

Marks and Spencer at Cribbs Causeway is huge! It stocks a veriety of womens, mens and childrens clothes, along with home goods and food. Marks and Spencer goods are always high quality and hence they also come with a higher price tag, but if you are looking for quality clothing etc this is a great place to shop.

This is a fantastic large M&S selling, clothing for men, women and children, food, toys, books and all sorts of other things as well.

It is nicely laid out, easy to get around and has a coffee shop for when you have worn yourself out shopping.

The staff are always really helpful, polite and friendly and also always seem to know their stuff which is great.

A huge range of products to suit every taste, although the price can put some people out of it. However if you can afford it their stuff is very good quality and seems worth it and there are things that are cheaper so even people with less financial means should not be put off having a look!

The cribbs causeway branch of M&S is huge- the womens wear section is massive and stocks everything. We went there to order a new 2 new sofas. The sales lady was very helpful and talked us through the process and even mixed up the different ranges of sofa for the ultimate look and managed to save us money. She persuaded us to open a M&S card and as a result of the loyalty points we received £75 worth of points- fantastic service and the sofas are perfect!

This Marks & Spencers is quite big. They sell items from clothing to homewares to food. The only thing with Marks & Spencers is that there items are quite dear but there goods are of good quality so if you can afford t shop in there then it would be quite a good choice I feel.
