I contacted my bank, as I used debit card and started an investigation with them into non-receipt of goods to make a ‘debit charge back claim’. This is basically compensation from the bank against not having recieved the items paid for.
I also spoke with Citizens’ Advice, who reported to Trading Standards.
Use the web contact form as opposed to e-mail. They are now answering my complaint after MutualPoints got involved and it looks like I may get a full refund.

It does look like complaining via Wowcher or using the customer contact form online may illicit some kind of response from Illuminata so that's what I'll do and see the upshot!
Absolutely no excuse for this in this day and age! Also wish I could rate this company a big fat ZERO!

I actually had a quick turnaround compared to other reviews but 2 weeks is still not good enough when you pay the £5 delivery charge expecting the item within a week, not 2. I also sent a few emails through their website, with no response. Looked for a phone number, to which they dont have one, now i wonder why??!!
The bracelet arrived today and oh my god i have never seen something look and feel so cheap. i think i would have picked up something better from Claires Accessories for 99p. The bracelet is nothing like the image on the website and it didnt even come in a velvety pouch as the description stated. I think my wrist would instantly discolour if it was dripped on my rain! I will not use Illuminata again and will warn all friends etc of all of the reviews here before they purchase a "great deal"!!

They didn't reply to any emails and don't have a phone number. I complained to Wowcher, who were great, responded straight away with a reply from Illuminata. Funnily enough, Illuminata then responded to my emails to say it had been shipped (although according to Royal Mail it wasn't posted until a week later).
The finish is poor, very bumpy and uneven, and the 'jewels' look like they are the stick on plastic ones, they don't look like they'll stay on for long.
Would never recommend this company to anyone! Way way overpriced!!

So pleased that Wowcher are taking you claim seriously. Mutual Points not interested in getting into disputes between their advertisers and their members. I still haven’t seen anything and have now got in touch with Watchdog on the BBC, as well as bad review on here and also on Review Centre website.
Feel free to add your reviews there, too. We should spread the bad word about these thieves.

I am still waiting for email confirmation of my order placed 6 weeks ago. This company are a joke.
-
gunnermitchell, 19 December 2012:
I too have it marked as shipped with a number, which Royal Mail can’t track!!
-
EssexRed, 20 December 2012:
Yeah, I am still waiting for a despatch confirmation. I got the order confirmation, but as that has no delivery date, it is incredible to believe, but they are not in breach of distance selling regs!!! Bunch of crooks!
I placed an ordered on 10/11/12, still haven't recieved it. They dont reply to my emails & don't have a telephone number. Mightydeals have got a contact number but they wont give it out.
Mightydeals say that I should recieve the goods by wednesday 19th Dec. But if doesnt , I am so pissed off I will complain about Illuminatta and Mighty deals to the trading standards.

generalpublic, 19 December 2012:
They are a joke (BOTH Mighty and Illuminata Jewles) …. just got off the phone from Mightydeals and they’ve changed the delivery date from Wednesday to Friday at the latest.
Apparently the item has been dispatched on Monday but I should wait until Friday at the latest for it to arrive.
Apparently I should receive a dispatch confirmation email from Illuminata Jewels today! How many more excuses can they come up with!?!?

mud11, 21 December 2012:
I was initially promised a delivery date by mighty deals on Wednesday. (which obviously was a lie) so I called them up and had a masssive go at them. Next day I received an email from both Mighty deals & Illuminata stating that my item has been dispatched but ONLY on Thursday. I am still waiting and I dont believe that its going to happen anyway. I have booked an appointment with the Trading standards for the 28th of Dec and I am going to complain about both of them.
-
generalpublic, 22 December 2012:
Ironically I received the item today, but its not what I ordered!!!! Don’t know why I’m surprised. Which means that I’ll have to send it back. Totally fed up with both these companies (even more than before) and I just want my money back plus compensation!!

mud11, 3 January 2013:
finally received the packet yesterday and to my disbelief it wasn’t what I ordered .
Anyway , as I already bought a replacement present before Christmas I am not going to bother sending it back or anything. But I am trying to complain about Mightydeals and Illuminata both to the trading standards.

Have you tried credit charge claim back from your bank? Trading standards informed, but citizen’s advice consumer department say there is little THEY can do to help. Only to advise that next time, check that there is full and proper contact info.

KGB refunded the purchase price for me, but I have still lost out on the £9.90 postage

EssexRed, 12 January 2013:
Hey! Illuminata have actually responded and initially offered an upgrade by way of compensation, but there was nothing we really wanted, so I accepted their offer of a refund. Agreed to send a cheque recorded mail. Guess what??
Yes, I am still waiting for refund!
Why we can't give zero stars is beyond me! I wish I had looked on here before I ordered.
I, too, ordered for a Christmas present for my wife. Maybe when something looks as good an offer as this (but not too good to be true), the alarm bells should start ringing? Why? Because I ordered at the end of November and have not received anything. As you all say, the customer "service" is non-existent. E-mails and contact directly through the website do nothing.
The company that actually takes the payment appears to be non trading and is registered in the UK, but that doesn't mean there is actually any physical tie up between the two companies.
In the end, I went out on foot and went shopping the old way and bought a very similar piece in H Samuels!! Seriously, the price not too much different, I could touch the item and spoke with a very nice sales assistant! How old school is that?

EssexRed, 20 December 2012:
I made my “purchase” after seeing a mail from Mutual Points. When I raised my concerns with them, they replied thus:
“While we do act as an advertiser for selected shops and services (in this case, Illuminata Jewels), unfortunately we are unable to provide assistance with individual purchases or transactions as these agreements are between the merchant and the customer.
Kind regards,
MutualPoints Support”Unlike some of you guys, they won’t even try to make contact. I am not blaming them, I just want them to never send mails from them again.
-
EssexRed, 20 December 2012:
I feel better now. I just sent them this mail:
“Thanks for nothing you bunch of crooks! Thanks for stealing my money and not sending anything. I have added my thoughts to Review Centre and Qype and reported you to Trading Standards, supplying them with the details of the company who took the payment.
Mutual Points have also been informed, so I presume that your little flutter to line your own pockets through them could be over.
Worst kind of cowardly crime in my opinion. Hope you are happy.
Oh and I will be more than happy to apologise if you ever were to send my item, but I don’t like blue, so I won’t hold my breath!"
I doubt they will respond and I have kissed goodbye to my money, but at least I feel a little better!

Another update. Watchdog on BBC contacted. Let’s see if they run this story?
Also negative review added to Review Centre website. Add your reviews there to spread the word.
Maybe we should add to MSE website, too?

EssexRed, 3 January 2013:
OK. A further update. I got a positive response from my bank this morning, who will investigate this potential fraud. No promises that I will get my money back, but it is a start.
Secondly, Mutual Points have made contact with Illuminata, who also trade under the name Ultima Trading Ltd and they say they will contact me.Well, believe it or not, they DID. This is the reply I got from Illuminata: "We have placed a request for an investigation into this order with Royal Mail. It has proved to be futile. It was shipped within 24 hours of your order being placed with the tracking number you currently have in your possession. In 2012 we have only had 3 items go missing. We stopped using one of the Royal Mail facilities as a result and moved to another postal office location. I am sorry that one of them has been yours. I am able to provide you with an upgraded replacement 18k White Gold Plate bangle with dozens of baget and pave cut crystals or provide you with a refund. Please advise soonest. "
I will update as to the progress.

Another update.
Not heard from BBC Watchdog, but you never know…
Review added on Review Centre, as well as here.
Mutual Points got in contact with Illuminata who say item was shipped and I have tracking number, the latter definitely NOT true. Offered upgrade, but nothing jumped out. Accepted offer of full refund, but I am STILL waiting and they have gone quiet again!
