9 reviews of Cannon Hall Farm in English
Read a few reviews before we went and most were very good. One was really naff and probably by a competitor as most disparaging. Decided to take our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and all of us enjoyed the experience. Staff friendly, food great and sensibly priced, farm shop amazing, deliactessen unbelievable selection and to top it all off garden plants at great prices. Mutton is also available in the butchery section with a great selection of other more usual and some unusual items.
The loos were great and the childrens playgrounds are the best I have ever seen. There is a new tubular maze over a large area which is best described as a hamster maze for kids. Our granddaughter spent a happy 1/2 hour 'hiding' in the maze of pipes and junctions. The farm is clean and the animals allvery well looked after. We saw and heard one of the male staff taking a group of kids round the farm and he was brilliant with them. The raised viewing platform allows you look down on the herd of cows below.
We were mightily impressed and will most certainly be back and soon. The cost £7.90 for all three of us - great value. Slightly more if you don't look like a pensioner. Kids and adults all the same price but under 3's are free.
We go to Cannon Hall Open Farm with our children who are aged 15, 13, 9 and 7, and they all enjoy themselves. As well as the animals and nature, the children’s play park is great fun. When they’ve had enough we all usually have a bite to eat. Would highly recommend for a family and everyone, no matter what age, will have an awesome time at Cannon Hall Open Farm!
I’ve been here many times, and it’s always good. It’s developed quite a lot in the last few years - the main attraction used to be Cannon Hall, with the farm a small attachment where you could buy food to feed the animals, but now there is a cafe, a shop, a playground. However, it hasn’t lost its family feel and is definately worth a visit. The animals are well cared for and friendly, and children can learn a lot about them. I did go in the hall when I was younger, don’t remember a lot about it other than a doll’s house that I loved and bought a postcard of. Don’t miss the grounds either - they are huge, and there’s a lovely picnic area (with extra parking and an ice cream van) down by the river, in easy walking distance. My extended family used to meet here, take a picnic and play rounders before going up to the farm!
great day out for the kids. my son saw a unicorn! (a large white horse).
nice park as well as the animals
This has been around for ever but is still a hit with adults and kids. The farm is part of a great day out for kids and adults and is surrounded by a wonderful park where you can feed ducks and geese and walk dogs and have picnic and everything really you can do in a park! Great day out for adults and kids
Really great place to go to well worth a visit.
There are loads of animals to see, and you can arrange a guided tour.
Need to leave a full day free to go though as there is so much to get around and things to see, and the outdoor play areas are a big attraction for children too.
I have been here with my children and a school trip with them. The animals are good and when we went with school we had a guide which was good as it gave the children information about the animals and gave them the chance to touch the animals and feed them. The museum is also a good place to visit and the farm shop offers and good range of fresh food.
A fabulous family day out! The kids can feed & pet the animals & play in the fab play areas. My children love going here. There’s also a cafe / restaurant & farm shop outside the paying area. We’ve also been to a birthday party here.
This is a working farm, you can buy animal feed at the entrance to feed the animals as you walk around. There are loads of different animals from Guinea pigs to Llamas, horses, piglets, donkeys, calves, goats etc.
It covers a wide area - there is lots to do
The cafe is great with a large selection of food and drink - it does become uncomfortably busy during the school holidays.
Another bonus is the farm shop which has a great selection of meat, cheese, toys gifts etc.
A whole day out.
