Shipley Swimming Pool

Shipley baths is great, but swimming now a days is so expensive, the 3 pools are decent but the baby pool isn’t always warm, just by the off chance when I went swimming with my sister and two sister in laws and kids and baby miles it was quite warm.

I take my daughter here once a week, she loves it. Lots of changing rooms, showers, and a cheap carpark just opposite. The kids pool is a decent size unlike most other pools

This is a great swimming pool, particularly if you are interested in diving as it has a dedicated diving pool. They have a good range of classes, and I would particularly recommend the diving classes for children. My son has been taking these for 4 months and thoroughly enjoys them.

The main pool itself is good for those who want to swim lengths, but they also run family fun sessions with inflatables.

The family changing rooms are clean and spacious and I think it is helpful that they are unisex with cubicles rather than having separate male and female changing rooms. As a mother of an 8 year-old boy this means that I don't have to send him off on his own to the male changing room.

Spacious family changing rooms, which are heated. They are only a few very large cubicles though, so it can be hard to get in one of these if you go at busy times.

There are lots of different classes and sessions which happen, so its best to check before you go.
Theres a nice cafe upstairs which over looks the pool.
3 diving boards, the top one is very high and i darednt jump off!

This is a great pool for everyone. Nice children’s pool - with floats available etc. Also has an excellent full size pool for swimming. Unlike a lot of other local pools, the main pool is excellent for swimming (as a lot of others are novelty shaped or too shallow etc). For those who want to, there are also three different diving boards. I wouldn’t say they are for the faint hearted though as they look pretty high!! ;-)

A 25m main pool, a slightly warmer toddler/baby pool, and a real deep diving pool with a full size diving board(I think, if it’s not full size it’s still pretty big) that takes your breath away if you leap off it.
All the pools are usually clean and not too cold.
The changing rooms have recently been modernised and as such are cleaner more spacious and have better lockers than the nearby Cannons.
There’s a cafe upstairs where you can get some reasonable priced food to refuel for the trip home.
They do the full range of swimming and diving lessons and I believe there’s a gym and exercises classes somewhere but as it’s not my thing I couldn’t comment.

My son has swimming lessons at Shipley Pool, the main reason I chose there is the changing facilities, it has spacious family rooms with secure wall mounted toddler seats and baby changing station in each room, great if you are a mum on your own so that you know your kids are strapped in safe and also dads are allowed in as well so there’s no excuse for mum to struggle with wet cold kiddies. They have a wide range of lessons from parents and tots, during the day and evening, plus family only sessions with inflatables and toys. But the best is the aquasize class for women, it’s such a laugh and great way to meet other adults without the kiddies in tow.
