I’ve been to Tiger Tiger only a couple of times, both for work Christmas parties. The food in the restaurant is pretty good, although we were choosing from a set menu so I can’t vouch for the normal selection. However the food was competently cooked (my steak was slightly on the rare side of medium-rare, which to me is better than being slightly too well done) and the service was friendly and attentive, even though there were several large parties in.
Upstairs is a bar and club area, the Lucky Voice Pods karaoke booths, and a cocktail bar. The music was, typically for bars nowadays, incredibly loud for a relatively early stage of the night. Bar prices were okay (£3.60 for a gin and tonic) but beware them pouring a double without asking first.
I wouldn’t include Tiger Tiger as one of my regular haunts, but for the occasional work night out, it’s pretty good fun -- as long as you get on with your work colleagues!
NB: A word to the wise -- they were charging £10 entry on Friday night at 21:30! This may have been due to the number of parties in that evening, making it more busy than usual, but it stank of profiteering to me!
This place can the avenue for a awesome night out or one to succumb to complete boredom if you unlucky enough to go when it’s deserted. It’s like a light switch which will only be brimming when you know when to go and with whom to go with. Tiger tiger has many rooms to cater for the interests of different people. The ground floor normally consists of the bar area for generally having a good chat(good for family get together). As you move on to the upper floors, they become more atmospheric with a chill out room with a sophisticated decor. The top floor has a landing area which is most popular with big groups such as work colleagues who meet up and go out here.
The top floor room which hosts house and dance music and feels like a small club which can be dead every now and then. The cocktail room and the other opposite side of the landing is where you can have a bit of a boggle and meet young professionals. The last arena which has just been modified caters for the karaoke enthusiastic’s. These are the karaoke booths which I would recommend for the girls to try out – it’s such a great laugh and is pretty cheap to hire out for the night between a group of people.
