This is arguable the original “posh” Indian restaurant, and perhaps nowadays suffers in comparison with the likes of The Cinammon Club and Tamarind, but still delivers quality food.

The menu offers numerous unusual choices, so it’s definitely a lot more than a chicken tikka massala and rice type of experience, especially with a couple of the deserts prepared at the table by the expert waiting staff.

If book, ask for a table in the conservatory if possible to enjoy the lovely surroundings.

(As an aside the boxed ready meals they do for Sainsburys are excellent too!).
