THE FISH  WAS DIABOLICAL.   We took 2 friends there at approx., 1.30 on a Saturday afternoon  to sit down in the restaurant for fish & chips all round. Might have known something was WRONG as the place was empty apart from the waitress SLUMP OVER THE COUNTER reading a newspaper.  When the food came it was DISGUSTING the thin slither of FISH was in a  rock hard batter which even after brushing my teeth I can still taste in my mouth 4hrs later. Our guests did not say a thing but we could tell this was not what they were used to.  We apologized profusely for taking them to the Ashvale Fish Restaurant.

fish is excellent and the big daddy is great. Chips can be a bit soggy though. The restaraunt is much better.

Really family friendly fish and chip restaurant. They do both take away and sit in meals. Not only do they serve a wonderful range of battered fish, but it is also possible to get steaks, salad, chicken and also a good range of vegetarian meals, such a veggie burgers and vegetable lasagne.

Their prices are very reasonable. Main courses tend to be around £6 - 7 for fish and chips and other mains, and around £12 if you opt for a steak choice. They also do a lunch menu and early bird menu which has special offers on. This is usually a set special offer price for a starter and main course, or main course and pudding (the sticky toffee pudding is lovely!)

I would recommend the Ashvale, its my favourite fish and chip shop!

The staff have always been friendly

the ashvale has a good rep in aberdeen and this shop is no different. fish is particularly good. good value for money. sometimes though you can get reheats but when its fresh it is very good
