I wish I could rate no stars. It used to be a nice place for food, reasonably priced and cheap booze but after today’s debacle I refuse to go back. A group of 5 of us went and ordered our food plus two sides - the prawn squewers and cheesey wedges. We ordered them seperatly because one of our party is allergic to shellfish. Not only did they arrive on the same plate but only one sqewer came. The menu clearly stated two. After complaining and not backing down to some imaginary new menu idea they had the manager refused to deal with us. After threatening trading standards (not so much a threat my housemate is writing the letter as i write this) he took our food from us (mid eating) and gave a refund for uneaten food. I am not happy with this place and will not be going back.

Typical wetherspoon menu and deals which are really good. Not always clean or tidy and the regular crowd tend to be a bit on the rough side - but ok.

I’ve been to this pub once, and I’m not exactly keen to go back.. but that doesn’t mean its not a good bar to go to! It’s just not really my kind of place.
It definitely has a feel of one of the older Wetherspoon’s, and is full of old men getting a cheap pint (see - old men will want to go there!). The staff are friendly though, and there’s a good selection of beers. The decor is very old school, but I guess that’s the appeal for the older generations!
