lots of great shops, some of which aren’t too expensive. they have clothes shops, toys, cash 4 gold, a hairdressers, bags, food places, 99p and £1 land shops. there’s not many bins so there is sometimes rubbish on the floor but they have cleaners walking round. the public toilets always smell horrible thought.

I dont mind shopping in the chequres for affordable fashion but its not the cleanest of places, there are no bins only bins to be found are the macdonalds ones or outside at the bus stop. And avoid the toilets but great place to shop

Good local shopping centre for everyday needs covering high st chains like Next and Miss Selfridge to Iceland and the inevitable pound shops plus a well stocked Wilkinson. Some indepentant stores too. A couple of places to get a coffee and a McDonalds on site too. Could do with a revamp to bring it up to date but it's undercover and has good parking but the toilets are gross so avoid unless desperate.

clean, friendly mall staff, variety of shops could do with another set of toilets possibly, but other than that a great place to shop

In all fairness the Chequers centre is a very nice place to shop only when it is raining as otherwise Fremlins Walk is a country mile better than this. Whenever I go into Maidstone to go shopping I only ever go to the Chequers centre if it is raining as it offers shelter as well as a good choice of shops however if it is a nice sunny day I will always go to Fremlins Walk instead. However the Chequers centre does offer a better range of shops than Fremlins Walk but the place always seems dirty and quite smelly.

Not alot left in the chequers centre that you can’t get in fremlins walk.
They have a boots, superdrug, bhs, new look, miss selfridge, next, butchers etc etc bt alot of these shops are outside.
Very run down. Not somewhere that appeals to me anymore which is a shame.

Now that Fremlin Walk has opened i don’t really visit the Chequers Centre. However the Chequers Centre has shops the main High Street doesn’t, them being Wilkinsons, Miss Selfridge, New Look and a big Boots.
Chequers is no longer called The Chequers Centre, it is now called The Mall shopping centre, who are the UK’s Leading Community Shopping Centres.
To be honest The Mall needs a big revamp, its old and dated and always looks a little dirty. The toilets in the Chequers are disgusting, I try never to go in them because they are unclean and just looked generally old.
The best bit about The Mall is its undercover and very close to the big Sainsburys. If you are parked in The Mall carpark, you can easily walk to the Sainsburys and go shopping.

This is a nice shopping centre, lots of different shops to look at. Its pasrt of “The Mall” chain. It has a covered car park and Maidstone bus garge in it as well, so its well connected.

Some great shops inside Chequers including a large Boots, New Look and bhs. Also have a great butcher, JC Rook and a wide range of other outlets including TJ Hughes, Mark One, Next, Miss Selfridge, Superdrug, Morgan Outlet etc. You can find most things you need and the good thing is it’s all under cover so you can shop even if it’s pouring.
It’s in the centre of Maidstone so you are supporting your local economy father than venturing to an out of town shopping centre too.

Pretty gay name as they changed it to The Mall, full of flat screen tvs wid an amazing smelling waffle stand. Great place to shop when it starts to rain
