Sahara Grill - Whitechapel

Food was very average for the price paid. You'd expect a little quality when paying this sort of price in Whitechapel. Five extremely thin lamb chops coming in at just under ten pounds, steak main accompanied by usual chips but really poorly made salad, the sort you'd usually get thrown in with an Indian takeaway. Many small flaws add up to spoil the experience such as no ice in water, large storage cupboard in middle of restaurant, waiters dressed like security guards with ear pieces. The decor was of a restaurant, but everything else was fast food experience from beginning to end. Only selling point of this place is that the food is halal

After attending a work event last night, i decided to pop into the brand new Whitechapel branch of Sahara Grill with some friends. I had heard that this place had opened but never had a chance before to check it out.

I remember ordering a Mexican beef burger with seasoned rice (yes, I'm strange like that) alongside a mocha frappe. The food was very nicely done and didn't take time to arrive at all. The waiting time is better than most other places that I've been to. The customer service was of a very high standard as well.

One of my friends who likes his chips to be piping hot requested if it were possible to reheat his chips. The staff went out of their way to get him a completely brand new plate of chips. I thought this was a nice gesture. It's small things like this I think that can win a lot of customers over.

The decor was also quite impressive. It had a modern feel to it. The atmospheric lighting coupled with the wooden finishing made the venue quite a nice and intimate setting for any meal; especially a dinner setting.

All in all, I would rate the experience as being quite outstanding. I've been a casual visitor to some of the other Sahara Grill restaurants for a while, but I think this new branch in Whitechapel may have won me over. Please remember to stay consistent and keep this level of customer service and quality of food as you excel in due time and raise awareness of this new branch.
