This is the second time that i have visited this pub, a very welcoming back street pub in Bournemouth that consists of two medium seating areas with single bar, games room and court yard.
The seating is nicely arranged and you don’t feel closed in. Which is great when having one of there marvellous meals, these are available at a very modest price and well worth what you pay.
The pub also has a great selection of real ales available at the bar served by a very friendly bar staff.
I would give this pub 10 out of 5 if it was possible i cannot put a bad thing about this pub highly recommend a must if in Bournemouth.
I spent a week in Bournemouth recently and found it lacking in real ale pubs. However i found THE GOAT and TRICYCLE during the week and spent the rest of the week visiting.A great selection of cask beers all well looked after and good bar snacks as well. dont miss this pub if you go to Bournemouth and like good cask beers.
This pub is a proper little traditional pub in the centre of Bournemouth.
Particularly known for it’s selection of real ales I can also recommend the Sunday night quiz.
This pub has lots of little nooks and crannies so you can alsways find somewhere to sit and have a natter in private, or have a couple of drinks before heading into the town.
It’s a bit off the beaten track but worth going off the main track for.
nice little pub, slightly quirky good Atmosphere
THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE GEM OF A PLACE WITH 11 HANDPUMPS AND LOVELY HOME MADE FOOD.
YOU REALLY SHOULD MAKE THE EFFORT TO GO THERE.DOGS ARE ALSO WELCOME AND THERE IS A LARGE OUSIDE PATIO AREA FOR AL FRESCO DINING.
Whilst bournemouth has more places to have a drink than you can shake a stick at the majority of them are bars rather than pubs. The Goat & Tricycle however ticks just about every box associated with the world of 'Pub’.
First of all the range and quality of the beer & cider sold in this place would keep Withnail and his nameless chum blissfully occupied for weeks and they always have decent guest ales up for grabs. The food is also very 'Pub’ esque with the G&T burger proving more a worthy adversary for many a well fed gent.
There are also an array of activities for patrons to partake in from a pool table to quiz & fruit machines, my particular favourite however is the giant connect 4 set (warning…can get very competitive after a few ales).
All in all a great place and a must visit for pub lovers.
bluesofty I don’t drink very often in Bournemouth, but there are a good number of pubs. I hate bars.

Visited Bounemouth to see Riverdance and had food and beer at the Goat and Tricycle twice. Made to feel very welcome and was impressed with the range of guest beers and very much enjoyed the food particularly the Goat Curry. Would recommend unreservedly.
This has got to be one of the best pubs I’ve visited. Didn’t manage to get tickets to the Poole beer festival so looked in the good beer guide and found this little gem. Recently refurbished, so I was told, the main selling points for this boozera are well kept real ale, fantastic wholesome food, good, helpfull staff and for those that want it, a covered smoking area.
