Thanks Maggie, sorry for late comment... lost my password!! Lovely feedback on food we have there... my one comment is that there are always over 30 stalls at the market, even when it's held at Campsbourne School, (at the Hornsey end of the park), when large events are at Ally Pally . Hope this lovely weather holds....

'The' place to grab your organic grub on a Sunday morning before visiting the garden centre or taking a stroll up through the Pally and onto Highgate Wood via the Parkland Walk.... Perfect!
This is a lovely little farmer's market, and ridiculously convenient for me since I moved to the area.
There's probably only about 15 stalls, but you could do a decent food shop here consisting of fruit & veg, milk, eggs, bread, fish, olives, every type of sausage you can imagine (I settled on pork leek and chilli), amazing cuts of pork and even pre-prepared goodies like pies, chutneys and cakes.
And if you get hungry while browsing you can grab a little pie to eat there and then - I enjoyed my butternut squash & spinach, and my hubby devoured his chilli beef & cheddar before I could even snaffle some. If pie isn't your thing, there was also curries, toasted sarnies and all other sorts of goodies. There was also a stall selling hot drinks which even on this sunny Sunday had a sizeable queue.
...when can I go back?

it is very difficult to go here and leave with only the things you went to buy. Every stall is great and they know what they are on about. If you have an hour or so to kill on sundays mornings then all walk through here wont do any harm

Walking through Queens Woods on my way home to Highgate from Ally Pally farmers with a basket of full of summer fruits fulfilled my red riding fantasies and has to be up there with my best London moments ever.
There was a few weeks last summer when they had big punnets of fresh peas in the pod which were sensational.
The welsh dragon sausages from giggly pig were delicious and the fish monger van always had great stuff.
I ended up deciding to only take a certain amount of cash with me though so I didn't end up with more food than I could realistically eat.

A really nice farmers market located near the entrance to the park. There is a great selection of veg, fruit, fish and lovely sausage stall and many of the stalls give out some samples to try. The location itself is really nice and you can go for a stroll into the park on your way to/from the market. Produce really is fresh and tasty.

A perfect Sunday for me used to involve borrowing a friend’s dog and heading up to Ally Pally for a wander across the fields, followed by a coffee (from Jason the excellent Merito stand) and a sausage butty from the brilliant girls of The Giggly Pig.
These days, the access to the dog has gone but the market is going strong. It certainly helps: a) that Time Out declared it the best in London; and b) when the sun is shining. Today was a great one, with loads of stalls, lots of good food and hundreds of people creating a charming atmosphere. Jason’s coffee is as glorious as ever, the Giggly Pig sausages are among the best I’ve ever eaten (and that’s a pretty big sample group, believe you me) and it’s all to easy to fill your canvas bag with goodies like hot smoked salmon, Portuguese custard tarts, organic veg, carrot and hazelnut cake, Meah’s brilliant curry sauces, Moroccan treats, lovely bread, Fidget pie…
It’s also a great place to celebrity spot, if that’s your bag: over the years I’ve clocked John Simm, Mackenzie Crook, Maureen Lipman, Stacey Kent, Neil Morrissey… and, on the subject of taking your canvas bag to the supermarket, Tim Minchin.

This is a lovely little farmers market in the middle of this beautiful park.
It has a few really good stalls, and you could in theory do alot of you shopping here. There is organic fruit and veg, fresh meat and fish, and then some other bits and bobs.
There are lots of families out and about, and quantities of toddlers on wheeled vechles of various sorts! It has a really nice atmosphere and is well worth a visit on a Sunday lunch time….as long as its not raining!
