Poor selection. Rude and condescending staff, especially the Dutch lady who may have been the manager. Only stayed for one pint and then had to leave because the place reeked of urine. Obviously wouldn’t recommend.

Just paid a visit to this supposedly 'gay friendly' hotel. Been there twice before with male bar staff with no problem. Tonight, arrived (Sat 9.30pm) and asked for a white wine, told (by female) 'I know who you are' and refused service. Second request also refused on no grounds,
Had been looking for a 'local', this will definitely not be it. How to lose customers - this place is an excellent example.

The Hope and Anchor has been an established pub in Hammersmith for many years now.

A bit over a year ago, the place underwent a change in management and has become gay.

It’s still quite a old-man pub, but now with more pictures of Liza Minnelli and Judy Garland.

There are two bars, one large room with a pool table, dart board and small stage for cabaret (and karaoke), a second smaller room with a more intimate feel and then the beer garden, which is lovely in the summer.

Drinks prices are fairly average for the area and the pub is fairly quiet in the week, getting busier Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

There’s not a particular type that goes there and women seem equally as welcome as men
