The Sun Room Tanning Waxing & Beauty Treatment Salon

Not a happy experience and poor results.

I went there today because my usual tanning salon was fully booked.

Even though I am natuarally dark skinned & have been using tanning beds & Sun Angels for the past 15 years (Im 31yrs old). The girl at the salon refused to allow me to book a 13min or a even a 10 min session on the bed as apprently they are meant to very strong and 8 mins is the max they will allow for a new customer (even though its obvious that I am not new the tanning world).

As predicted I came out of my 8 min session feeling completely dissapointed & feeling it was a complete waste of my time and money. I told the girl that I could see no difference (when usually I always see a dlight difference straight after), she shockingly told me that  a tan will appear in 6 hours. Im veru annoyed because I know my skin type and how its acts on a Sunbed and feels I was mislead into speanding money in the Salon.

The location: very central and handy

The waiting area: well, it is not an area really, it is just a bench right on the shop window, everything but comfortable and spacious

The reception: tiny but effective I guess

The staff: friendly but too loud and chatty, does not help with creating a relaxing atmosphere

The music: it is not really background music, it is loud radio songs playing non-stop, not the relaxing type of music that you would expect so that as soon as you cross the entrance door it transport you to a relaxing and peaceful place

The place in general: chaotic, crowded, messy

The treatments: effective and good value, it does what it says on the tin. Ideally, you could just fly from the street directly to the treatment room so that you could avoid the mess in between.

I popped in here for a 30 min Enzymatic Sea Mud Pack Treatment, a wax and a manicure.

What can I say, except these guys are efficient, efficient efficient - in a completely good way!

I started with the mud pack. The warm mud was brushed all over and then I was wrapped up for 20 minutes as the minerals were absorbed by the body. After that I was ushered to the shower down the corridor to wash off.

Back into the room, I had my waxing treatment. The therapist was no-nonsense and the pain was over in minutes. There was a huge squirt tub of moisturiser in the room, which she directed me to use, whilst she went upstairs to set up for the manicure.

My manicure was great. My cuticles were expertly pushed back and trimmed, nails filed and buffed, and I was given some good advice on ensuring my cuticles were kept in good shape. There were various nail colours to choose from and it was handy having a nail dryer on the table to dry one hand, whilst work was being done on the other.

Overall an extremely professional and friendly place, which I would recommend, and use myself again in the future.
