Hard to believe this was one of the roughest Pubs in Swansea at one time, called " The Raven " but not any more, with this lovely Chinese restuarant taking its place, as the same building. The food is superb indeed, and deserves a repeat visit ASAP, in my opinion. Highly recommended indeed, if not a little bit difficult to find, if you don't know the Penlan area......

The food here is totally gorgeous. Its a great set up as you order dishes from the menu and if you finish that lot then you can order more of the same or different dishes. Its a great place to go in big groups as it means you get to try tons of different food and you can order more if you are with big eaters and dont get enough of a look in!!!
A bit strange that its in the middle of a residential estate but if you can look past that then its a must try

Fab friendly service.. been a few times and the food is fantastic and really good value for money. Obviously the alcohol is a little expensive to make up for the cheapness of the all you can eat food. It can get quite busy here so is definitely best to book. Also on a Saturday i know they do two sit ins.. 6pm and 9pm so it’s worth going for the latter because you don’t feel rushed. Always enjoy the food here.

Fantastic food and service.
The Thai Phoenix is a totally new concept for Swansea incorporating both the relatively new eat as much to order idea plus a menu of Malaysian, Thai and standard Chinese fare.
Everything is freshly prepared to order and the temptation is to order starters and then more starters, particularly the most delicious Salt and Pepper King Prawns, Tempura Vegetables, Satay chicken to die for. However after a few visits which ended up with very little room for any main courses(particularly following delicious in betweens of Crispy Duck/Lamb or the Vegetarian option) we’ve saved ourselves a little room to appreciate the fantastic main dishes: Amazing Malaysian dishes which I’ve not experienced before plus great Thai and Chinese.
The only low points are: the situation of the Thai Phoenix, in the middle of a housing estate, the difficulty sometimes of getting a table on the weekend with two sittings at 6pm and 9pm due to the restaurant’s popularity.
Overall a must place to go.

Yum, yum, yum! If you like chinese food this is the place for you!
I say Chinese because I’m not sure how authentically Thai the food is (but I’m no expert).
Basically, this is eat as much as you like for about thirteen quid.
This is how it goes:
You are shown to your table and given a menu. Prawn crackers and sweet chilli dip are brought for you to nibble while you choose.
You then order your starters - 6 per person - which are then brought to you on one large platter. When these are finished you can order again (and again) or move on to “in betweens”.
This is my favourite - either shredded lamb or duck (or both) with pancakes and plum sauce. A pretty generous portion which you can order more of, or move on to the main course.
Truthfully, I’ve never managed to finish a main course yet but they are very, very nice. My favourite is chicken with cashew nuts and fried rice.
The menu is extensive and there will be something there for every taste. Service is good and the staff are pleasant. If going on the weekend it may be worth booking a table beforehand as it does get quite busy.
The only downside is that the decor isn’t particularly wonderful. It’s clean and tidy but you do get the feeling that you’re sitting in a Chinese canteen. I can live with that though. If you’re lucky enough to get a table by the window though, check out the view!
Excellent food and excellent value for money!
