Possibly the brightest of the Gaucho cousins, I would strongly recommend this one for a romantic dinner this summer, while the weather is good. In the winter, it should also be lovely, but I doubt you'll make it there in time to watch the sun set at that time of year!
As a South African that loves his meat this is as close to home as it gets .. Always make a reservation as it’s a popular place. Sides are not included so make sure you bring lots of money. I will say this it’s worth every penny ..

if you are looking for somewhere to have steak, without needing to worry about the price, them this is definitely the place to come. The waiter brings the various cuts of meat to the table and explains what each is, a nice touch.
Don’t come here if you have children to feed, as there is no child menu, and there are no “child friendly” dishes on the menu either.
I also object to bottled water being brought to the table without asking, and them being charged £4 for it!
However, the food is of very good quality, but expensive, with the need for ordering any side dishes required as none are included with the main dishes.
The restaurant itself has a modern feel to it, with lovely views over the river.

We had the best night out at Gaucho in Richmond last night. From the violet liqueur cocktail at the start right through to the fresh mint tea at the end, it was impossible to fault. Definitely a venue for a special night out, as it is expensive – but worth every penny. I left my phone on the table and the manager even jogged after us down the towpath to return it. Amazing service.

Absolutely adore this place. Gaucho Richmond is by far the best Gaucho around. Far enough out of the town you get a lovely secluded atmosphere.
If you don't want to walk the toe path along the river they can arrange for a golf buggy to pick you up from outside the slug and lettuce and drop you back after.
Food is immense every time i have been and can't wait for a hot summer evening to go again. Book in advance or risk ending up at a chip shop

Went here for lunch last year and it didn't rock my world completely. The food is really good but the prices are not friendly. It is a place to try if you are a steak lover - but you do need to be ready to pay.
The staff are lovely and very attentive- cannot fault the service. Definitely a plae to go for more a special occasion not a friends lunch - unless you have the ££

I haven't been here for a while, in fact, not since just after it opened around 3 years ago, but I think the prices have only moved north since then! Still, the place does exude class, and the meat is really to die for, but, you still want to make sure somebody else is paying. In the summer, what could be better than to walk off the accumulated calories than a stroll down Richmond riverside? Few things, indeed.

Can't really fault anything about this restaurant apart from the price. Meal for 2 £120. Service is great food cooked well, nice wine fantastic setting and yet for me it doesn't add up to the sum of its parts. Leaves me a little confused because as I say I can't fault anything and would go back but just not for a while.

I was here beginning of Jan fancying a nice piece of meat. I totally enjoyed the whole setting and the friendlyness of the staff. Food presentation was great and the meat nice and tender cooked to the point i requested. Unfortunately the potato mash was powder base which i didnt like at all. A restaurant in this league should be able to make it themselves.
All in all it was a very enjoyable evening!

Hehe. I am sorry to say but you are incorrect in your assumption there.
I work at Gaucho and they make the mash everyday from potatoes. Actual potatoes.
They then puree the potatoes which is why it looks as it does.
To be fair, the item on the menu is called potato puree, not mashed potatoes, or smashed potatoes*
This restaurant is great. It is overlooking the Richmond Riverside. It is spacious inside and has a sophisticated bar to sit at whilst you wait to for your friends or just to sit at.
It is a dark atmosphere with star type lights in the ceiling.
The food is minimal but very tasty and well cooked. You can choose your steaks and the size and how you want it cooked. I chose a chorizo steak and it was very tasty. You have to order vegs on the side and as extra. If you are expecting a big meal, this is not the place for you.
I was impressed the way the brought the meats out on display to your table and showed you them, so you can choose.
Expect this to be pricey, but you certainly get value for money, with the food, view and service.

Great river views from the restaurant. This is an Argentinian steak house, though they do have fish and vegetarian dishes on the menu. But steak is their thing. They bring the different choices of the steak as part of the menu presentation. There is a variety of different cuts of steaks and all are reasonably priced. Like many restaurant, the bill adds up when you throw in the starters and the side dishes. They have an extenisve wine list featuring wines of Argentina and Chile.

What a fabulous night out in London! We’d never been to an Argentinian steak house but have dear friends who rave about Argentinian meat. They were right! My husband and I both felt we had the best steak we’d ever eaten. Go for the 400g filet steak. You won’t be disappointed. And the sweet potato chips were the perfect accompaniment. We had the ice cream with whisky and walnuts and the dulce de leche cheesecake and both were very good. Look for a bottle of wine that will suit your taste. We also had the best wine that evening that we have ever had.
We’ll be going back!

For all you steak lovers out there, you have to come to Gaucho. Argentinian steaks have never tasted better. Everything about the restaurant is wonderful, from the decor to the service. The steaks are cooked to perfection and of course to your chosing and the cost is incredibly reasonable! Fora meal for two with a decent bottle of wine we paid approximately £90. This included starters, mains + sides and coffee.
Recommend the steaks which have been hung and marinated for a period of time. Good place for a business dinner, any form of celebration and most certainly dates!

Great place if you want a reasonably priced meal. High quality meats presented to you and the cuts explained for those who are admittedly novices when it comes to choosing from the variety of weights and cuts. Good wine list, service fantastic for lunch and summer evenings by the river, will certainly be returning.

You will struggle to find a better steak in London. This branch of Gaucho Grill is ideally situated by the Thames with glass walls providing an uninterrupted view of the river, and with a lovely outdoor seating area for when the weather permits.
This is a fantastically atmospheric place to go for dinner, with a delicious selection of food on offer. It would be a great shame to come here and not order a steak, but they do offer some good alternatives. The staff are very knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the different cuts of beef on offer.
There is not one dish on the menu I would not recommend, but my absolute favourite has to be the bife de lomo, a silky soft fillet steak, accompanied by humitas, a wonderful puree of sweetcorn wrapped and roasted in plantain leaf. The wines and cocktails on offer are just as tantalising as the steak.

This is a great restaurant. The food is great, the service is excellent, the bill is quite large but well worth it for a special night out.

The best Fillet steak, come to think of it the best beef in the world and it is Argentinian. This is a must go to restaurant, problem is you will keep on going!

Have been there only once: trendy, noisy, good food. I would recommend to go there in Summer and be on the terrace along the river. Not sure the prices are justified anyway…
