Rock-n-Roll pub in Wiesbaden Bieberich. Retro, cool, Karmic, and groovy.

After dinnner at thge Mexican joint a few of us wandered over to what the smartphone told us was a good pub in a three block radius. What a find! This is a neighborhood pub based around good old rock and rolll music. The owner, Clyde plays in a local band and has run the place for 35 years. The ambience is…. hard to place. Let’s call it Harley Bar meets Victorian English Pub. Tin ceiling, faux art noveau lamps, Rock and roll posters framed carefully between 19th century lithographs… all on top of a velour wallpaper which wouldn’t have looked out of place in a Bourbon Street brothel 100 years ago. There’s a smokers bar and also a small terrace.

The focal point is music though. Apparently Clyde has quite the collection of rare music videos (where does he get this stuff?). Eric Burdon postt the Animals, Vintage Bowie, The Doors performing sans Morrison. Oddball, unusual, classic…. a bit of everything. It’s def, as some German reviewers have mentioned, like stepping back in time. Clientele was from 20 to 80 but I think age just doesn’t count for much in this timeless sort of place.

I give a rare 5 stars because the vibe in this joint is just so groovy. Highly recommended.
