Really cool restaurant with an excellent atmosphere especially as the weekend draws near! Great place to hang out with friends it has great food, friendly staff, and the Swiss Cottage one has a cocktail bar too and I’m slowly working my way through the cocktail menu!
Good place for sushi neebie’s as the staff are helpful with their recommendations, they have a good choice and a range of cooked dishes too so you can try some without having to eat a whole meal of sushi if you don’t want to! If you are trying the sushi then my favourites are the tuna seaweed rolls and the salmon gunkan
I love their mixed tempura, prawn skewers, calamari chunks, duck uramaki and the vegetable futomaki but not always all at the same time!
I love the crispy tuna to start and then a selection of sushi but always the prawn seaweed rolls and the tuna gunkan and I make sure I always leave room for the pure fruit sorbet for dessert!
Like most girls I’m trying to loose a few pounds for the summer but I still want to be able to eat out with the girls, so we’ve been grabbing some sushi from here and know I’m not piling on the pounds! My favourites are the chicken katsu uramaki and crab hosomaki.
I’m so glad I found somewhere to eat that serves nice food which is healthy and with a quick service if your in a rush, try the tuna gunkan and prawn nigiri they’re sooo good!
I have a big problem with this place, as I never know what to have, as everything is so tasty! If you have the time please try one of their cooked dishes with your sushi they’re so good I love the mackerel teriyaki.
Sometimes it hard for me to eat out with friends because I’m a vegetarian and they’re all meat eaters but there is a lot of choice here to please us all. And for veggies that don’t eat fish there is still plenty to choose from the vegetable noodles are good and I always order the small avocado seaweed rolls too!
Took my kids here in the holidays for there first taste of sushi, I thought I was safe if they didn’t like it as they love their bowls of chicken noodles. They didn’t like the ones with lots of seaweed but love the finger shaped rice with prawns and salmon on. They want to go back next school holiday so that’s a thumbs up I would say!
If you’re in London and want a tasty and healthy meal then I would highly recommend Me Love Sushi. Both the sushi and hot dishes are always excellent, freshly prepared and full of favour. The staff are really friendly and helpful if you’re a newbie to sushi, the restaurant has a bright, clean interior.
Great place to go if your in the area, though it’s close to the tube station, so easy to get too if your not and worth the trip!
I normally have the bowl of rice with either beef or chicken and its really filling but if your feeling extra hungry then the chicken skewers are good. Or of course the sushi, i was even brave enough to try the raw tuna last time i went and i was pleasantly surprised!
I normally arrive here after a day shopping, utterly exhausted and starving and it always hits the spot.
It’s an informal, lively restaurant that serves really good food. Non sushi lovers shouldn’t be scared to try it as theres plenty else to choose from and if your with others you can always try some of theres without having to order your own!
I really like the calamari chunks as i reminds me of holidays in Spain and the tempura dishes are also good but for me i always have to order some sushi as well. My favourite is the large seaweed rolls filled with vegetables.
Can’t wait to my next visit!
I tried this place the last time i was in the area on a friends recommendation. I went on a saturday afternoon so it was busy but the staff were quick at seating and serving people and the food comes out fairly quicky too.
As everything on the menu looked good,i had trouble deciding what to try but i ended up going for calamari chunks and beef noodles (i chose the thick noodles) both were excellent and i left feeling stuffed!
Want to go back and try the rice with teriyaki chicken.
I often grab lunch here if i’m working in this part of London.
The temaki cone things are good if your eating on the run, if you’ve got more time the rice dishes are good and the skewers are really excellent too, to good to share!
Good place, with a fun vibe and helpful staff if your new to sushi.
I love this place, it offers fast food without the fat & calories!
Good place to stop with friends, as if there not to keen on sushi, they will still love the noodles or donburi (the salmon teriyaki is a fav of mine)also love the king prawn tempura and the salmon hosomaki, i can never decide what to have when i go.
Can go their for a filling meal or a quick snack.
Def worth a trip
I recently swung by MeLoveSushi's Swiss Cottage location to sample its special Hanami (Cherry Blossom Festival) set menu and cocktail. This massive set menu (available from 15th of April to the 25th of May) features a sashimi platter, a salmon and avocado temaki and a uramaki duck. All that's served with a “Sushi Love” cocktail, for just under fifteen quid. I enjoyed the spread of food and thought the cocktail was pretty tasty too.
The bulk of MLS's business seems to be deliveries and take away. I would certainly keep 'em in mind if I were within their delivery zone. Anyway, as things stand, I'll be sure to make a note if I'm ever in near their Swiss Cottage location again. It's a pleasant restaurant with a cool upstairs bar (think Wagamama with a little more charm). MeLoveSushi has the value-for-money concept down pat. Their menu is tasty and easy on palettes a little less familiar with Japanese cuisine. Check 'em out.
Sushi and rice and noodles oh my! I always have a tough time picking what I want at this place. Everything is so good, and their prices are pretty good too. The bigger dishes like the noodle bowls and rice are obviously more for your money, but the sushi is really tasty and always tempts me as soon as I step through the door and see it all sitting there. mmm.
I finally gave in and took my teen for her veggie sushi and I am glad I did.
I was a bit wary to go into a sushi place, but my teenage daughter is a vegetarian so this was a good option for us. We popped in around lunchtime on Saturday and it was pretty busy. There was actually a lot that both of us could eat. She had some kind of veggie tofu pouch (which she raved about) and some cream cheese and cucumber rolls. I actually tried one of the cucumber rolls and it was pretty nice. I had a seafood rice bowl with fried prawns and crabs, which was amazing. We also shared some vegetable tempura, which was really nice and surprisingly filling.
Highly recommend this place if you are looking for some tasty, fresh and filling food.
If you are visiting London and are looking for a tasty and healthy meal then I would highly recommend stopping in to Me Love Sushi. The place is really friendly, with a bright interior and funky decor and it is usually filled with quite a varied mix of people.
I am a big lover of fish, so it’s no surprise that I love Sushi, although I tend to avoid the raw stuff and choose things like king prawns, fried salmon and crab. If you are a tourist to London you might have been brave enough to try Jellied Eels (a local delicacy) so you should try the Japanese barbequed version here.
The prices are all pretty reasonable for London, and the menu is really big so you can pretty much eat to whatever your budget is, and still get your fill. I found a lot of Japanese restaurants in London to have really inflated prices, and I guess that goes with the territory, but I would rather spend money on nice, fresh food than gimicky service or pretentious interior design.
Me Love Sushi is really easy to find, as it is right beside the Swiss Cottage tube station. (Exit 2 I think) It is also a convenient place to eat as it is close to Hampstead Heath so it’s a great location to people watch or meet up with friends coming from outside the city.

If you are looking to pass some time in a clean, friendly place to hang out and chat with friends, then you can order dishes kind of like Japanese 'tapas’ and nibble on different dishes. In fact, this is a great way to be a bit more adventurous with your food choices, as you can order plates of things like Flying Fish Roe sushi, or Japanese pickles to share amongst you.
The restaurant can get pretty busy around lunchtime, so to avoid the crowds go a little later, say after 2pm.
There are plenty of traditional sushi choices here to choose from, with plenty of rolls as well as snacks such as edemami beans.
Their house specialities are also well worth a try. Their black cod with miso sauce is a thick slab of cod, seared to a crunchy caramelized brown on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside. The miso sauce is sweet and salty and a perfect complement to the fish.
The restaurant has a bar upstairs, which has quite a different vibe. While the restaurant is bright and funky, the bar has an altogether 'cooler’ vibe, with all of the spirits you would expect as well as a nice high end range of special 'sakés’.
Prices start at just £3 for some of the more basic Sushi options, and hot meals such as rice dishes and bowls of noodles sit at around £7, so if you are looking for a healthy and fresh meal on a budget, you can happily have your fill for under £10. For a delicious feast, savoring a range of what their chefs have to offer, plan on £20 - £25 per person.
