Binny Plants

I first came across Binny Plants at a show in Glasgow and have meant to go and visit for years.  A couple of weekends ago my husband and I visited this wonderful 'secret garden'.  It is a magical place, with every corner you turn full of wonderful displays of plants, shrubs and trees you cannot find in your large Garden Centres. You are surrounded on ground level, eye level and above your heads with magnificent specimens of unusual plants and trees.

We were welcomed by the owner who then spent at least an hour advising us on what type of plant, shrub or tree to buy for our diverse garden.  He could not have been more helpful and if we asked questions he was not sure about, he knew a man who did!!  His staff were  also very friendly and well informed.

We were accompanied throughout by his trusty friends, both 'rescue dogs' who obviously adored him.

We had been away for a few days break and the time spent at Binny Plants was 'simply the best' and I recommend you visit this wonderful garden and meet the people, plants, trees and shrubs and of course, Billy Carruthers best friends, the dogs. I feel sure you wont forget it.

OK, so you can buy from this nursery online but I just love visiting this place. From the long bumpy driveway to the winding paths through the Walled gardens of thousands of potted plants it is my idea of bliss.
Working on the theory that if they are grown in Scotland they have got to be hardy I have some real treaures from here.
They specialise in unusual perennials, ferns & grasses and are always lovely healthy plants.
They are open All year except mid December to mid January. Daily10am to 5pm
