I have a very keen interest in the Peninsular War that Spain fought against Napoleons encroachments and this little fortress on the top of a mountain played a small part in resisting the French

VERY picturesque and with incredible views over Malaga

Review of Castillo de Gibralfaro from 2 October 2009

This magnificent building dates back to the beginning of the 14th century. From the castle you have great views to all the Malaga bay.The castle is opened from 9 am to 6 pm in winter and to 8 pm in summer. It definitely worths a visit!

For only 1.80€, this site is definitely worth the trek up the hill. Its not overwhleming spectacular, but the Castle overlooks Málaga and the Mediterranean, and are the ruins of an ancient Moorish castle-fortress
