Very disappointed with the service in the bar ! The tables are dirty and glasses not collected in, no beer mats , dirty glasses , bar swimming in drink and feet sticking to floor !! The staff lack training, and management seems non existent ! poor staff spoiling an otherwise good local.

very peaceful setting and decent food with a good range of choice. however i choose to go now only to drink , as the weekend staff are abysmal. Service WITHOUT a smile!

The Keelman is the place to go on Summer Sundays it has outside seating and for those who have dogs a walk a long the river at the nearby river park sets up both man and beast ...for those with children ...there is a play area ....where you can watch your children ....On colder days and without the dogs you can eat inside the ale is good and the portions large and anyone that says the food isnt good hasnt been to the Keelman ...The food is constant we have been every season and inside and out small parties and large parties and The Service is really good ...the Food Grand .....Its really economical for family groups .....

I’d heard good things about this place before we went, but sadly it did not live up to its reputation. The food was awful and the service was abysmal. Its only saving grace was the excellent range of ales. I’d recommend it for a drink, but avoid the food. Such as shame its a wonderful setting with great walks along the river.

Excellent pub with a good variety of food offered on theirmenu. The outside seating area and children’s play area is ideal in summer. Good range of beers too.

Unusual pub which has a great layout and family feel. It has a large conservatory area for eating. The menu is quite large and food is good and very tasty! Prices are very reasonable and portions are quite large. Service is very friendly and food is served very quickly. The pub has its own brewery and is well worth a visit to try its products. It has a large variety of its own ales. It has an outdoor seating area. The pub is quite a long way from the city centre and only really accessible by car but is worth a visit.

this is a family style pub in the Newburn Riverside Park.It is also the home of Big Lamp Brewery with an entire selection of their ales being produced and sold on the premises. It is popular with families, walkers and cyclists. The food is pretty good too and they have daily specials which are described as credit crunch beaters. If you buy a 2 pint jug of beer you get it for the price of a pint and a half. The quaffing bitter is about £2 a pint anyway-so pretty cheap.
