12 reviews of Golden Pudel Club in English
Things I can remember about Pudel club:
- they have a cool outdoor area
- it gets very crowded
- there is some kind of cover charge
- the music is good
- it's very dark
Things I can't remember about the Pudel club:
- whether they have a cloakroom facility
- what the bar is like and how many they have
- what anything in there costs
- how big it is
update: I can now remember:
- there is one little bar
- cover charge is about €2
- drinks are very cheap
- the actual place is very small
All in all it's a favourite last stop (before the fischmarkt) on a big night out down the Kiez.
Ah, the Golden Pudel. Very cheap (beers are between 3 and 4 euros and entrance even at the weekend is less than 5 euros) and if you're into German eurotrance, this is the place for you. Don't expect to get a seat in the Pudel, this place is rammed from about midnight onwards and the dancefloor is busy and sweaty.
If you're in Hamburg on a saturday night, i'd recommend hitting the bars of the reeperbahn and then heading to the Pudel at about 2.30am. Leave the club at 6am and head for the fish market to congregate with all these other ravers eating fish sandwiches. Perfect!
Golden Puddle?? Sounds like someone’s had a little too much to drink and the queue for the toilets was just too long! Not very proming, but like many things in life the least promising things often turn out to be the best! Have you ever noticed how Chinese food always tastes better the grottier the takeaway you get it from? Perhaps the same principle applies here!
Hmmm - perhaps I should name this principle after myself!
p.s. please don’t count this as a review as I haven’t actually been - I have found no way to make a comment without it counting as a review somehow.
My favourite club in Hamburg so far. Only a few euros to get in, good price of beers, and excellent music.
It is a big crowded for my liking, hence the 4 stars, but then it does show how popular it is. The best thing though is the music, and the fact that you can easily spend a few happy hours in here between midnight and 6am. Much more of a relaxed atmosphere than any club in the UK. Massively understated and dead cool.
I’ve already been here several times and will definitely be returning.
Probably the greatest place among Hamburg’s small clubs. See their website for a frequent kick ass program.
The budget end of clubbing in Hamburg, but one of the best venues in my opinion! I’d actually been here a long time ago but couldn’t remember that much about it, it’s probably even smaller than the Grüner Jäger, scout-hut chic. Entrance is 2€, and beers are cheap. When do you see Augustina for under 3€ in a club?! Music is generally excellent, fun crowd, only downer being that it’s packed so you are limited in what moves you can pull on the dancefloor…

A really INCREDIBLE place, seriously… an old fisherman’s hut transformed into a club… it’s hard to describe, you have to see it to believe it… the place is on the point of caving in with every beat, all the DJs every single one is alternative… (for example: DJ Marcelle, the fifty year old who resembles a man more than anything, absolutely crazy) entrance fee 2euros, drinks normal prices, music largely electro so don’t expect to see smart clientele.. very, very underground and murky but that’s precisely why we love Hamburg! No cloakroom, but don’t leave your stuff lying around.. just in case
A must see in Hamburg!
I’m not a big dance music fan, so I was a bit sceptic at the beginning. But I went in, had a gin tonic and there I was….dancing in front of DJ :)What is great about this place is location. Its like right next to Elbe, also fiction park is couple of meters away. A lot of possibilities to just sit outside with your drink. And you will really need it, because it is usually so overcrowded, that you will be sweating in no time.
As, one of the infamous weekender in hamburg, i wanted to see all the city had to offer. I wanted to go somewhere quintisentially german, and when i heard the name " the golden poodle", i was like we must go. However, it wasnt the uber tacky dance music and lazer disco i was expecting, rather a hardcore industrial trance party, rammed to the rafters in a club which im sure at one point had been a bomb shelter.
I was extremely drunk, and remember only pyscotic flashes of insanity so all i can say is that this place is insane. should be checked out by anyone and everyone...but be prepared
You should be informed, while searching this little, trashy house on the Elbe. Is this a club? Well, yeah...so I´ve been told.
Kittles above, may have described this club the exact way it is. Me experiencing the same night, including some other weird, drunk fridays, makes me definitely come back!
The bright illuminated white room is something special. What is it´s purpose...Relax, dance, smoke, drink, filming ect. We have tried it all..and God knows why.
Anyways, this is the place to be to end up your suberb clubbing night in the early hours of what day it may be..
The music is as weird, but orginal & fun, as the club! This dark, trashy Electro makes sure you won´t stop dancing for the next coming few hours..!!
We stumbled drunk during the early hours of Sunday morning into what looked like an abandoned house cum Squat then a club.
The loud deep throbbing sounds of Electro welcomed you as you paid the doorman 2 euros to be let inside.
Underground and dirty with a bar, a dance floor and a lounging area.
Alarmingly also in the club there is an empty stark bright white lit room the size of a big walk in freezer that scarily reminds you of a white walled slaughter house from a horror film, minus the blood and butcher hooks of course...against the dark interior of the rest of the club you cant help but walk into the perplexing room at least once or twice before it gets too much and your forced to retreat back to the comfort of the darkly lit dance floor.
the DJs play to the crowd mixing original tunes, experimental beats into their enthusiastic sets
I danced like a lunatic and remember the music being exceptional or at least a lot of fun to dance to.
Then again I was also very very drunk so will definitely have to come back to make sure I wasn't just hallucinating.
till I can assure you, you were not... Still one of the nicer clubs. And so close to Fischmarkt Sunday in the AM. ;)
