Decent bar, ideally located on the edge of Trent Bridge. A good place to enjoy a prematch pint before watching any if the local sports teams needs that play nearby (football, cricket, rugby). Can get pretty busy though so turn up early if you want a seat.

I'm speaking as a regular of the southbank, and i dunno how you saw sticky tables or grubby toilets! me n my mates are down there every weekend and the cleanliness is impeccable. Weekends are always packed with a brilliant atmosphere. The toilets are pretty nice.. for toilets! we love a fri or sat night out in southbank, it's always really busy but the staff (who are all really pretty girls! probs the only downside! haha) are really fast and friendly. the bst thing about southbank is probs the live music, over the weekend it's brilliant, much beta to dance to than stereo music. in the summer nothing can beat a cold beer on their terrace! hah you can tell im writing this review as a biased regular, but honestly, if there were any bad points i'd not hesitate to point them out. I just think that a good night out, away from the trouble in town, u cant beat southbank, especially when they have joe strange band on. or roy de wired. :)
