This is an excellent spanish restaurant , I don’t know why people have reviwed it as bad on this web page. I think it is very unfair and make no sense at all when it remains as one of the best and certainly the most popular restaurant in East Grinsted and probably the whole West Sussex.
I have been to it many many times and I have not eaten anything but the best, the quality of food is superb and that is why it’s remained on top for over 30 years.
The staff is very wellcoming and friendly, they work their socks off trying to deliver the best service they can but obviously it can become a bit hectic at weekends and anyone would be when it comes to serve hordes of people at once. Don’t you think??
Besides they are so courteous that they never ask you to leave because it’s getting too late and they are closing, they will never do that despite it’s 3 am. I do not think there is another place quite like.
Please don’t abuse their kindness on opening hours!! They have to rest too.
Great place try the tapas menu some good selections with food tasting fresh. The restaurant is decorated to a rustic design not to in your face. Bad points are the atmosphere La Farola was a nice small restaurant in the 90’s the success made kept expand now to the end of the road with a massive bar area. Its the bar which lets La Farola down, drinkers stand way to close to diners and you cant have a quite dinner on weekends.

Can be really busy at weekends so book ahead. Drinkers can stand right next to people eating, if you don't want that ask for a table in the main restaurant. Food usually good, i normally have tapas. Quite expensive for what you get. A good place for a group night out.
Have been a couple of time food was OK nothing to shout about, made the mistake of going on Saturday evening shoved round the back next to the toilet & loads of East Grinstead's finest "fat slags" all wearing as little as possible drink beer out of bottles trying to get off with "Man form Burton's" staff were almost no existent service was zero when we finally found some one to complain to they completely ignored us WILL NOT BE GOING BACK
It varies, sometimes good sometime ok. Staff should learn how to smile a bit more, they always seem so severe.
Menu could be more varied but on he whole the food is coooked well.
Wine menu should be a bit more extensive as they tend to err on the safe side.
On the whole, there are only three restos in east grinstead to go to and this is one of them, the others being Nizan (indian) and teh newly opened portuguese resto
About as Spanish as Portugal, the food here was bland. This restaunt is for some reason very popular at the weekend, and if you manage to get past the hoardes of smokers stood on the pavement outside you may find yourself shoehorned into a table surrounded by people stood drinking, which makes for an odd dining experience and I imagine an equally odd drinking experience.
Although probably one of the most popular restaurants in East Grinstead it does very little for me. I have been invited here many times over a period over years but it would not be my choice. To be fair I have had some decent food and the atmosphere is lively. On the down side the food can be mediocre & sometimes very poor. The meat & fish look good but I have been served the most inedible steak & overcooked, chewy Squid.
It can be noisy and the tables often set too close together,so don’t go for a romantic dinner for two. I have also seen couples pushed into tiny corners to make room for larger tables. The service is dreadful & spasmodic with no finesse. The menu is wide & varied, prices being the top end of average and there is a reasonable wine list.
There is a Tapas bar attached and parking opposite.
