Alfa, Karlsruhe

The hotel is located in very convenient area with at least 10 cafes, bars and restaurants with in a 2 block radius.

The reasonable, the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good with both hot and cold options.

Well, the Alfa is really nothing special. I can only agree with my previous commentators: not really friendly service, mediocre breakfast, noise and small rooms, convenient is something different - but the location is sensational. So if the location is important to you, stay overnight but I would recommend an alternative to everyone else.

The Alfa in Karlsruhe is mainly characterised through its very central location (you get out of the door and stand on the Ludwigsplatz) as well as free WLAN (I think this is always positive about a hotel). Once you enter, you might think that everything costs 10€: car in their garage? 10€. Breakfast? 10€... but everything? No, the rooms are rather expensive for what's on offer: they start at 75€. Everything here is alright but not outstanding. If you get here by car this will set you back 95€ for a night with breakfast - that's too much for what's on offer - especially the breakfast is really scant and lean. However it's clean but, because of its central location, not always quiet at night. 3 stars for its great location and the free WLAN, 2 stars deducted for the (in my view) too high prices and the insufficient breakfast.
