5 reviews of Maneeya Thai Restaurant in English
The Maneeya is by far my favourite restaurant in Surrey, and I can not believe why it is not busier, clearly not enough people know about how fantastic it is. The food is excellent and very authentic and the staff are very attentivel I also think that the menu is reasonably priced for the quality of food that you get.
Taking 'an old friend' there for dinner on Saturday, can not wait to eat my favourite starter and main and of course, to impress him on my choice of restauant.

This restaurant is tucked away within the Charles Cryer Studio Theatre in Carshalton High Street. It was virtually empty on this weekday evening , very clean and smart decor, white tablecloths, fresh flowers. The staff are extremely warm, friendly and welcoming and we opted for the set meal for three, which gently unfolded before us, complete with carved carrots and full explanation of the parade of dishes. None of the meals contains monosodium glutamate and all dishes are peanut-free. The set meals are very good value at £12.50 a head, more than enough to eat and some definite highlights such as the sweet and sour salmon.I would say that more care was taken with the preparation of the meals than one would normally expect.

Maneeya is a very good Thai restaurant. Some may be put off by the prices of some items but the quality of the food and the excellent service more than makes up for that. Consider Maneeya as a palce to go on a birthday, anniversary or on a date with someone you want to impress. Any of the prawn currey’s on offer are wonderful, particularly if you like chilli and garlic in abundance. The platter of thai appetisers is also good and fun to share.
The restaurant is spacious and situated at the back of the Charles Cryer Theatre which may explain why it is so quiet during the week. The decor, including fishtank makes you think you’re in an entirely different (and more glamorous place) than Carshalton. All in all a lovely dining experience.
