Review of Pepper & Oz, The Brasserie from 14 March 2009

Six of us had an excellent evening here, doubtless lubricated by copious quantities of wine. The restaurant is in the shadow of Malvern Abbey, right in the centre of Great Malvern.
We were seated very close to the kitchen door which was somewhat off-putting at first. We asked for olives and were brought rather more than we’d anticipated but we found that we still enjoyed the starters – most of us had crab in filo pastry. Main courses and puds were good too, the only exception being that one of our party thought her trout was a little dry – maybe an order for six is challenging for this small friendly establishment.
£300 for six (see above comment about wine).

Irritatingly over-talkative owner really put me off my meal, which was pretty drab to begin with. Reasonably priced though, I suppose

Review of Pepper & Oz, The Brasserie from 23 October 2008 (updated on 26 November 2008)

Pepper & Oz would not be out of place in London or even San Francisco. It is however a little out of place in Malvern.
They have a good wine list, champagne by the glass, A good selection of starters, mains and desserts. The prices reflect the type of food and service but would be more at home in a bigger urban setting. Great place for a special treat or occasion but not everyday cuisine.

Targeting the urban, professional profile. Good for pre theatre drinks and nibbles.

Review of Pepper & Oz, The Brasserie from 4 September 2008

I went with 3 friends the food was bland over cooked no flavouring.
Was £100 short and looked for a chippy on way out,we were starving.
If your well flushed and not fussy about your food then try it
otherwise go for a good pub meal spend half as much and feel you haven’t been ripped off.
