Department stores are great simply because you can get everything you need in one stop, however this is not the only reason why i love shopping at
Harvey Nichols. This store is magnificent. It’s exclusive, it’s got what I’m looking foe, the service is superb and the quality is second to none.
It is a pleasant shopping experience each and every time.

I used to buy a lot of my working wardrobe from Harvey Nichols many years ago. It was, of course, immortalised in the BBC comedy Absolutely Fabulous, as the place where decadent vampish PR women of uncertain morality, sloshed on a mixture of drugs and champagne, spent ridiculous amounts of money on designer clothes.
Revisiting the store after many years I was surprised to see how limited the ranges are and how little it had moved with the times. Its glory days were in the early nineties where classic harmonised brilliantly with cutting edge.If you were looking for a working wardrobe that made you feel both professional and feminine, this was THE place to go.
I suppose if you are unfortunate enough to find yourself stranded in Knightsbridge you might as well put a brave face on a bad job and park yourself here as well as anywhere, but you will find exactly the same ranges at somewhere like Fenwicks without the snooty assistants.

Yet another great store with everything you could imagine or want... well, almost. I love going to the food department and seeing what's new. And it's also a great place to spend a few hours going around and just shopping for accessories and nice clothes. Service is always excellent and the staff very friendly.

Definitely my favourite department store in London!
It has all the best shops and the 'exclusive’ nature of all the good London department stores, but it’s not as stuck up as Harrods :)
its glam and you get treated like a princess.

This is a fashionista’s mecca, and fashionista I am not but I do love walking through the apparel floors and trying to imagine a time when I might just have to splurge on a little Pucci outfit. I come here for the perfumery and cosmetics ranges. Sure, they do the regular brands like Lancome and Estee Lauder, but they also carry exclusive perfume houses such as Acqua di Palma and brands like Trish McEvoy which you can’t find anywhere but here in London. The ground floor juice bar is great, the 5th floor food hall stocks interesting foreign ingredients and the Solgar range of vitamins (superior and vegan-friendly) and if you like your Fit Flops, you can find them on the ground floor near the satiny yoga mats and perfumed eye masks. Monsieur wishes they’d stock a range of superb IT gadgetry, but unless they colour coordinate it to the current season’s palette, I can’t really see it happening. In the meantime, Monsieur can but hope.

My place of worship!
LOVE Harvey Nicks. Such a fantastic range of covetable designer labels, I do serious damage to my credit card each time I am in here.
When I die I want to be buried under here (how sad am I?!?)

This is one of my favourite shopping destination. It not too big, not too confusing to move around, provides a good range of products, sells quality and tasteful goods, offers great food on the fifth floor and also located in a good location…. Great things about Harvey Nichols are endless! Simply love shopping at Harvey Nichols… but can’t do it too often as it is always really expensive! The next time you are there, do try the restaurant on the fifth floor, it serves amazing food…. Try the set menu… always cheaper that way, be prepared to spent about £40 per person including drinks.

One of the more pricey places in town but with the price tag comes quality, service and a shopping experience like no other. HN has the benefit of not being overrun with tourists in quite the same quantities as Harrods and the food court is absolutely amazing. Definitely worth a visit… but plan your budget before you go!

I’m sure I’ve reviewed this before but this is just a fantastic place to shop. Predictibly I focused most on the one destination I knew I was going to enjoy the most and so made my way up to the 5th floor where apart from the very high fashion and designer itens there was going to be something equally as expensive but in an affordable size - chocolate.
The food hall did distract me though and I almost wandered into the posh cafe but chocolate drove me on and I made it in to the food hall to the chocolate area.
The smell is quite something and the friendly staff there allowed me to try a large number of different types of chocolate before I settled on the ones I wanted to take home.
Of the diffferent chocolates I bought I have to admit they were on a par with the other high quality chocolates I have tried but that is an excellent thing since I have had chocolates that were suposed to be good and were dire.
So do pop up to the 5th floor and get yourself some chocolate - they have a fantastic selection!

The food hall on the fifth floor is an all-time favourite. I am glad they have an express lift taking you there and back down again, thus avoiding the other four floors of designer temptation.
Harvey Nichols is definitely positioned at the premium end of the market, but I think the food hall offers good value for money. I love their modern packaging, the monochrome tins make wonderful gifts.

Harvey Nicks has always been known to be expensive so that is nothing to put you off. Staff are friendly and the place is to be as expected. Nice little treat place.

Very spacious and clean. A good selection of clothes (especially for men). The sales can be slightly manic but at all other times it is a relaxing shopping experience. The changing rooms are well-lit and spacious. Staff are always helpful.

Generally Harvey Nichols is what it promises. Posh and expensive. People who go there are quite stiff and take themselves very seriously:)
Their bar is not bad, mudslide cocktail was delicious but the staff ignored me when i was waiting on my own for someone, maybe I just wasn't hitting 50 so they thought I am not carrying Amex in my pocket so why bother??
The interior is fairly basic and if you didn't have to use a lift to get there you'd never gues you are in the fifth floor. This place is a total proof that some people love to go places just because they are expensive, nothing else.

I think this is the defining designer store in the London & UK. The place to come to get designer clothes for men and women. Also renowned for its Food Foor - where you can pick up "deli items", wines as well as fresh fruit & vegetables. Often overlooked is the fact there are other departments in store ncluding homewares, Audio Visual & stationery. Although these are modest compared to other dept stores.
There are also some nice places to stop & relax. Fifth Floor (restaurant/bar on the, erm, 5th floor) is a dining/drinking institution in the "monied" world - enjoy the experience of high earners checking each other out! There's also a Yo!Sushi concession and a few other cafes.
One service worth using is the Personal Shopper - its free & really cuts to the chase (especially when I'm looking for gift recommendations).
A long-standing London institution, in the past few years the brand has expanded & one store has become 5 with outlets in Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham & Dublin.

It is easy to overlook Harvey Nichols; smaller than both Harrods and Selfridges, I sometimes forget myself to check it out. Well I think it is well worth regular visits. The selection of designers is more edgy and inspired than other stores, the displays are more imaginative. Staff could be more helpful. Restaurant also well worth a stop; it is a bit expensive but the food is lovely. I also love their shop windows.
