start with the bad news first.
FOOD here CAN be EXPENSIVE. bangers and mash for £6.99
home made? id say roughly 3 to 4 pounds. save yourself a few extra pounds of christmas shopping.
although i dont see why you would go out and eat bangers and mash, but Gammon steak, with 2 eggs, chips and some peas was exact same price. 6.99. which is average price i suppose.
i must admit. it was nice. but returning?. i would have to consider it.
on the side of that you have to buy ur drinks Separate. As a UNIVERSITY students a meal for 9pounds including drinks is pretty expensive. so would recommend avoiding this place for a celebration meal.
Its not like a NORMAL restaurants where you get waiters walking around asking if your ready to order. u have to go to the bar round the corner, and wave someone down, and the waiters are hardly doing that.
When bringing the knives and forks, they put it in this metal tin. and inside.. isnt a good sight.
one friend commented “lucky im not a health and safety inspector.”... yup. that wasnt that clean.
GOOD NEWS…
IT is a really nice place. inside looks fabulous. feels welcoming, well lit… thats about it…
Large pub close to the M62 motorway and a couple of minutes from the M6 exit, the pub was recently redecorated and now has a modern and relaxed feel. The food is the standard brewers fare offering and isn’t to everybody’s taste. The staff are friendly and the service is surprisingly good!

The Winwick Key is a large pub near the M62 motorway in Warrington. It serves a range of food, all the meals you would expect from a Brewers Fayre so a range of hot dishes and sandwiches. The food is reasonably priced and normally tastes nice although I have on occasion had a bland meal from them.
The restaurant and bar are decently priced and there is a good selection of drinks to choose from.
The pub also caters for children well with a play area and childrens toilets.
Be prepared to wait for a table if you turn up on a weekend tea time or sunday day, I have had to wait up to 40 minutes before now.
All in all this is a good family pub which on the whole serves well priced decent food.

Large menu. bland microwaved food. Less than helpful staff.

I used to go here when I was at college and never had a bad meal, now 10 years later I find the food is still just as good the service is great and the décor has been updated.
The only downside is that they no longer do the Alexandra sauce which I used to love.
There is something to be said for a Brewer’s Fayre or TableTable as they are now known, simple, straight forward food with great service.

Typical Brewers Fayre, good value food, good service, good quality and quantity.
Popular pub so sometimes quite busy. But never had any bad experiences at this pub in terms of food or service. Not forgetting the children menu.
Will no doubt be going again and would recommend to a friend.
