What a lovely country pub. I only live about six miles away but didnt even know it existed until a friend took me there. Tucked away it is a typical oldie worldie pub with bucket loads of charm. The food is excellent and the staff are warm and friendly. Would highly recommend it.

What a fantastic pub! Brilliant beer, great ciders, superb food, incredible location, large beer garden, it’s own beer festival and charming staff.
Go there!
A rambling old building in the privately owned hamlet of Hambleden, the Stag and Huntsman boasts everything that a pub was designed to be and have. Along side the creative and tasty menu is an “insiders menu” that those in the know can request. The garden is big and fenced in and has a couple of dozen large picnic tables.
There is little or no mobile phone reception in the valley here so you won’t be bothered by people yelling into their phones.
Only word of warning is that the public car-park just round the corner from the pub attracts a lot of attention.

You’re very luck I’m sharing this one with you! I first came to Hambleden, rumoured to be the home of cricket, when I was a teenager with my family. Hambleden is a beautiful village and those with a keen eye may recognise it from many, many films and telly programmes, including Little Britain. Yes, this is THE village where there is only one gay! But that is beside the point.
The Stag and Huntsman is a typical home counties country pub, the best of its sort. It is real, utterly un-shoojed-up, traditional pub. The food is really good and the drinks are excellent as well. It’s lovely to come here in the summer where you can sit in the garden, but I like it best from autumn on, when it’s warm and cosy inside. You will not be disapointed.
