Bank is one of Birmingham's classiest and most chic restaurants. The building and decor could rival some of the nicest places I've been to in NYC and LA -- and I'm not talking delis!
I really think the ultra-modern, slightly minimalist decor is to die for. I think the way the name is spelt out vertically on the outside of the building is just groovy -- I'm clearly easy to impress!
The bar is fun, lively, colourful, and always really busy. They have a great cocktail menu, and the guy behind the bar the last time we went winked at me, which Bank definitely gets points for!
The food is good -- nothing spectacular, but definitely dependable. A bit pricey for an all-the-time dining experience, but definitely great for special occasions. A lot of couples go here, but I think a group would really appreciate the drinks menu and the atmosphere before heading into the messy part of the evening.
I believe the restaurant has been awarded two Rosettes by the AA, and their food is certainly plated in "foodie" style, with good presentation and little decorations.
Staff are really well trained, really knowledgeable, and always very friendly.
Despite being a bit of a posh nosh venue, it has a relaxed atmosphere, good music, and a nice vibe. I'd recommend it to anyone for either a nice treat out, or if you're in Birmingham visiting for the first time.
Smashing place, design, atmosphere & attentive staff, shame my chicken was raw in the middle.

Bank is a true goliath on the Birmingham restaurant scene. It has been one of the places to see and be seen for well over a decade now. The restaurant itself still feels maodern and spacious although many of the tables are very close to thier neighbour.
Bank has private dining rooms for large parties which are like huge glass boxes allowing diners to view the kitchen while the food is prepared. Food at Bank is average (7/10?) Nothing to set the world alight but simple dishes done well - think of some comfort foods woth a few more modern offerings.
The bar at Bank is one of the best stocked in the city and offers some truely great cocktails (Try the bruised Martini - fantastic!) , a couple of draught beers and a range of premium spirits to suit all.
Service is always good. Even when very busy. The best table inside is table 105 right up the corner in the old smoking section. When the weather is nice there is space to dine outside overlooking the canal.
For what it is Bank is expensive but always upholds its standards - much better food for a similar price can be found at Opus in Cornwall St.
Best for (expensive but great) Drinks at the bar or the prie fix menu (5pm-7pm?) which offers 3 courses for £15.

satnav, 23 December 2010:
I have been to this restaurant once, but it is my fiance’s favourite place to eat in Birmingham. It is definately somewhere to go on a special occasion - we went on Christmas eve and its where we got engaged.
I have also been to the bar here on a few occasions, and it is just lovely. A good atmosphere in here, with really lovely wines to choose from.
This is a nice location in Brindley Place, right Opposite the Ikon gallery, and also by the Sea Life Centre. It has a very romantic location, because the square in Brindley place is truly beautiful with a gorgeous fountain lit up at night, and fairy lights in trees.
A perfect restaurant for a special night out with someone you love.

Bank Birmingham derves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I found the menu exciting with plenty to choose from - even for vegitarians. It was served, presented and cooked to perfection.
Not only is the food of good quality but the overall appearance of Bank from the moment you step inside makes you feel you are somewhere special.
In better weather (if possible in England) you can sit outside over looking the canal or over the square and for parties there are private rooms to accomodate for this.
I enjoyed Bank but feel, for me, it would be a place I go to on special occasions due to prices are not affordable to me as I’m a student!

This restaurant is situation in Birmingham and very easy to fine. I have only been here once and it was for a special occasion, the restaurant itself offers a great deal of dishes but to be honest they are quite expensive. This Brassirie is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The restaurant itself is very spaciously and has a great relaxing atmosphere, most of the people here are here on dates or special occasions, its not really the sort of place you go for a night out with friend if you want a lively affair. The surrounding area is very picturesque and as you look out the window you can see a historic canal. Very relaxing atmosphere where the staff are very happy to cater for you
